Password confirmations aren't really there for security. More as a sanity check to make sure the user hasn't accidentally typed their password incorrectly.

I have had a bone graft on my right wrist from an injury when I was younger and find using a mouse for long periods of time quite awkward. The best solution I have found is to use a Wacom tablet instead of a mouse. Using a writing implement

I read through this thread thinking the same thing (re: the arguing). It was a fairly intimate article providing an insight into the habits and life of JF and I found it slightly disconcerting that people were so quick to criticise what see

To me the use of keywords on this page look borderline splog-ish. Sure a great way to get page views but how is the bounce rate when people legitimately looking up Thanksgiving land on your page?

I have been an active member of YayHooray for the last six years, and although it bears mentioning here it's not necessarily a design orientated community anymore. Most discussions tend to be random and meaningless and the signal to noise r

It's interesting to see just how fragmented the advertising space really is these days. I think there is a real opportunity for the creation of unified marketing tools to bridge the disparity between all of these (advertising) services.

The Last.fm API ( http://www.last.fm/api/intro ) is the best one I've come across. It has the most comprehensive and intuitive documentation of all the APIs I've used. Their format for API documentation should become a standard.

Slightly off topic, but I'd be interested to see what 37signals have to say about Wave, since it seems to encroach on their core business with the added benefit of Wave being free.

It's a shame that this is ceasing development as it was actually a reasonably useful class. I'm sure there will be someone out there willing to fork it though especially since it's in use on some pretty high profile sites. (e.g. Guy Kawasak

All these re-designs (for the sake of self promotion) are getting a bit much. Lack of good design can communicate as much to the user as good design itself can. In the instance of 'bargain' sites (Zappos, Craigslist etc.) a deliberate un-de
