Not doordash, apparently. Their CS agents and supervisors were completely unaware of GDPR and unable (or unwilling) to delete accounts.

No, you are mistaken. I have no Facebook account. Spotify phones home to Facebook the moment the app is opened. This can be confirmed with a no-root firewall like Netguard on Android.

I don't even have a Facebook account. That doesn't stop Facebook's SDK from phoning home every time Spotify is opened.

For the privacy-minded, Apple Music doesn't notify Facebook each time you open the app. Spotify does.

TIL the engineering director for Chrome comes from the NSA and CIA. Surely he cares deeply about everyone's privacy now, though... As for me, I'll use Firefox.

Not in theory, but in practice why would any creator encourage people to give them money on a platform that pays out half of the other one? They would push all people to the one with double payouts.

There's nothing generous about it. Microsoft is well behind Patreon and this is a way to get creators to swap to using GitHub for donations.

Yikes. I hadn't heard of this either. Reconsidering my email host right now, and that's a shame because I really liked Fastmail.

I cannot express how much I love this service. Firefox Send is flat out the best way to send files securely over the internet by giving someone a URL (and optionally a password).

If a "friend" won't install an app (a 2 minute commitment?) to remain in contact, then I'm honestly fine without them contacting me. To each his own.

Perhaps I wasn't clear, but I couldn't care less what they use to message their dentist. I care that they use Signal to message me.

I agree. However email metadata isn't secure, so that's a nonstarter. I'm rooting for Matrix but thusfar Riot's UX to get an encrypted conversation going leaves a lot to be desired. No way are the non-technical people I

I've told the important people in my life that if they want to message me, they will need do it through Signal. It takes 2 minutes to set up, I show them how, and tell them that I won't reply to any SMS. Many switched, including t

Last I checked, Chrome on desktop stores all your passwords in plaintext on disk. Unless something's changed... I wouldn't use that. Firefox at least offers you the ability to set a master password to encrypt all the rest.

The whole Nexus brand springs to mind. The best mid-tier phone available was killed and replaced with nearly the exact same specs at the highest price possible. Sent begrudgingly from a Pixel.

Every price listed on that site has an asterisk pointing to "Prices include gas savings." So no, these are the gas spitball prices GP was asking about.

That makes a lot of sense. Speaking for the "hobbyists" out there, it'd be great to have that as an option in Ardour itself and not have to fiddle with setting up client/server/bridges just to plug in a microphone (

"The TLS protocol" wasn't included in the distribution. "The TLS protocol" isn't a package a distro can version-lock and support. OpenSSL is. If you want versions as they become available use a rolling release.

It means you need both computers to be on at the same time to sync between them. Alternatively you can spend $5/mo for a server to handle the syncing between laptop and desktop in the way the grandparent described.
