I feel like Valve has certainly been putting effort into Linux, but not serious effort. They seem to be going low-moderate risk/investment. Sure there's progress, but then the Wine devs are moving pretty steadily too at the mom

I think there is a lot of Brinkmanship and chest beating going on at the moment. I also think things like making one's term indefinite and cracking down on the populace is actually more likely to encourage a 'challenger' to

This to me indicates that it is recruitment companies applying these metrics (3y+, 5y+, 10y+) as a standard for job ads and companies just go with it. I.e. 3y+ is just a shortcut way to sort CV's, not a requirement.

I guess the major 'problem' is that (at least the media representation) most of the effort in GMO is not going into products being more healthy, but towards increasing yield. Put in that light it's immediately obvious the fir

Exactly, Apple just doesn't need ads because of their physical product and brand strength. If you rely on ads, what actual value are you (or could you be) providing that you're not charging for. And then, why not, why choose

I personally think there two issues here: a) Expectations of 'Entry-level' actually being greater than 'junior/apprentice' b) Mentors not part of the role Both of these issues have arisen from a lack of willingness

You're comparing Apples to oranges (I'm sorry) Apple doesn't have a social network. They also don't rely on advertising and 3rd party data brokering. It's easy for Apple to be the 'good guys' here when th

I wonder if something useful here is a service like what some NASes (Synology) provide, where you 'self-host' on your PC/NAS, but also replicate to someone you know's PC/NAS. Basically, install the app on both PCs,

The biggest reason I can see now based on current rhetoric, is that it's a trap. Once in, you can't get out, even if you want to. That doesn't even factor privacy or advertising or whatever, it's purely that you are a

Yeah but the car has IR/LIDAR does it not? Low light should not be a problem there. I would expect if IR/LIDAR are working properly the car would see the pedestrian as if broad, bright daylight, so why no reaction at all?
