Compatibility really is the killer feature here. Also, foveated rendering means dramatically improved performance depending on how good their implementation is - at 120hz I'd expect it to be pretty decent.

This. I always sort of hoped that Apple would either enter the market at some point or acquire DuckDuckGo and try to build out to a larger user base. I realise this is pretty unrealistic, as I'm sure there are far more people out ther

The Ponzi comment above was a poor attempt at humour. He was a con artist who knew he was a con artist. I do not believe the majority of people in the cryptocurrency space are attempting to harm anyone.

Imagine paying someone for a sandwich and being obligated to give them access to view your bank account balance (past, present and future) in perpetuity.

This is simply saying “can all these people be wrong?” in other words. What I wrote is absolutely logical as best I can tell. I didn’t say it’s a scam (although that community is riddled with those too). I said it’s a collection of ponzi sc

I think at this point we’re just so far past the point of having reasonable discourse on this topic that it will not be possible to have a reasoned discussion about it ever again, anywhere, regardless. Personally I have to fight my own ri

This is exactly how I imagine it would work, albeit with a standard provision being made by Apple and Google as a starting point, something like a universal federated VOIP (they'll come up with a decent brand name for it obvs). If you

I'm actually more worried about a different problem - I don't care about removing the physical SIM slot but I'm really concerned about halving the amount of numbers someone can have on a single device. Phone numbers are an u

€650 million does not seem steep at all for the offence, given the consequences for those involved. It’s not supposed to be a tax, it’s supposed to be a disincentive.

It's a slap on the wrist. 100x this fine would have been appropriate. Anything less just encourages other companies to treat privacy and data security as a joke.

100% agree. All I’m saying is that to get double the salary from someone not obligated to pay it would mean that you’d need to be able to convincingly answer that question first. It’s going to be a massive elephant in the room before the to

This. An entire generation will be demanding their golden years be subsidized by the young like they had to subsidize their parents’ generation, who had to subsidize their parents before them. The world is not ready to be told “No” on this.
