Very strange that you consider ads based on geography as fine. That's the one I am most concerned about, primarily with political and PR-focused advertising which are often heavily geographic based. I care extremely little about "

It needs a graph over time. It seems like it's going exponential based on HN headlines.

If we're coming up with brick and mortar analogies, it's got to be grocery stores and generic branded items. Kraft Mac vs Great Value. It's hard for me to say Amazon shouldn't be able to do it while every grocery store c

Similar story here but possibly a bit more fun. New VP came in and less than 6 months later demanded the org switch to some proprietary (expensive) agile methodology that had some theory that orgs with more than like 150 people are too big

IANAL and also have no experience in this, but there is such a thing as patent and IP insurance. Both offensive and defensive. I am sure there are also companies that can perform code audits to find potential infringements early at varying

This is the area I am most interested in. I have personal experience where every member of my division (~25-30 people, including my manager) was laid off and received severance. I was deemed too important and should stick around the empty o

This was my favorite area of study when going for my PhD in EE. I decided to drop out for unrelated reasons and went into software eng. I tried to find some gigs that would allow me to pursue this + software, but convenience always won out

Just for FIY: First layer BTC takes 7 minutes, but lightning network (2nd layer) takes a couple of seconds. There are a handful of other cryptos with sub-second transaction speed. It's honestly pretty impressive for such fast consisten

Now you've got me wondering, what kind of technical expertise do different insurance companies possess to understand risk in these niche industries? Insuring Viasat's Visasat-3 for example. How do you quote for something like that

Really? In my mind that would be the most difficult. The simplest is telling a non-tech person to install a shady app, approve a bunch of permissions, and ask them to input even more information directly. The phone being hot can just be the

Thanks! I will probably just stick with Keepass but this was a nice write-up to consider. 1) I have my database replicated several places already. Cloud storage, mobile, FTP server, etc. 2) I don't use a browser extension on desktop, b

What exactly is Bitwarden getting you if you're doing this copy process? I have only used Keepass and haven't read why Bitwarden would be superior for some scenarios over what I am already doing.

Maybe, but I'll suggest an alternative view that's probably unpopular: big ad companies walk a fine line between what knowledge they can share even from _inside_ the same company. Ad sellers cannot have perfect information for pro
