I thought phishing meant fishing for usernames and passwords. This just seems like a run of the mill stupid scam attempt that happens to say Bitcoin instead of dollars.

Actually it's quite a surprise to me. They are one of the most profitable entertainment companies ever. I'm not sure what they need the money for, they had hundreds of millions coming in each month from revenue on a team of under

Same for me, and if you want to exercise in any way that actually makes a differnce, it's more like 1 hour minimum with packing for the gym, going to the gym, showering, getting back home. Doing a couple of pushups at home doesn't

This is toxic advice and I'm glad to see most of HN agrees. Being ambitious is one thing but there's only so much a human mind and body can take. Banging your head against the wall 24 hours a day isn't going to produce better

I guess a better title would be "Is the web browser dying". It seems to me like the web is transforming away from the browser into standalone applications that use the underlying architecture. Sure it's still HTTP requests go

I did the Audible free trial for a month and you can download through the app instead of streaming. It's worth a try if you're looking for something like that.

This is a tough sell. An iPhone screen is not great to read on and to get enough mileage out of this you'd have to read a couple of books a month on it. If I could get something like this on my Kindle which is actually good on your eye

"Your game doesn’t need to be in the iOS App Store or Google Play to be played on mobile devices. That is a huge benefit. Sure, it’s good to have it in both of those stores (and is easy enough to achieve), but the fact that it can be p

Agh, this should definitely be a design anti-pattern. Don't change my browsers functionality. If I wanted smooth scrolling I would find a way to turn it on.

I don't think this analogy makes sense. I HAVE flown professionally for 6 years and now I'm jumping through cargo-cult like hoops to show that to a new airline.

I think 2D toolkit is a great asset too, hopefully they got something out of this and will keep on doing good work. But I think what most people are missing is that the real game changing 2D news is the new 2D physics engine (box2d). Doing

At least for big game companies iOS is still by far the number one platform. Many high profile games still aren't available on Android, Clash of Clans or Plants vs Zombies 2 or Kingdom Rush Frontiers just to name a few I've been m

I'm a bit confused about who is this for. Looking at the examples it's obviously not for making movies, unless you consider a video capture from the Sims to be a movie. What is the goal for this project, who will use it? The only

Very cool! Reminds me of the games I was programming as a teen. Pygame seems like a pretty straight forward framework to easily start seeing things move on the screen which is really important to keep people motivated.

Same for me, but I can see a possible issue with very young users. Re-teaching people who are out of school but never really grasped some math concepts is "easy" compared to providing the whole math curriculum to kids. For me pers
