Agreed. The tech/CS world is more open to these alternative credentials. But a decent majority of the jobs are outside web/tech where traditional degrees hold a lot of value. It's not as easy to get a good mechanical engineer

I agree with your point. Part of aging research is to reduce the rate of deterioration and maybe avoid it altogether. I just have a problem with the idea of living forever. Maybe add a cap on human lifespan?
