Careful with fashion. Fashion trends are manipulated to keep the dopamine flowing if and only if you update your wardrobe every season. All the magazines, shows, etc... it's not entirely innocent of the problems we're discussing.

Moving to the country comes with quite a few surprises. Houseops, goatops, landops, townops, snowops, etc... there's always lots of ops.

Just to make sure I've got it: harmonics will always sound like (be?) octaves relative to the fundamental. But all the less-dominant frequencies are overtones, even if I somehow get a tritone or something gross sounding. Now what happ

The fundamental being in or out of the set is less interesting to me than the (useful, to me in my day to day) distinction between overtones and harmonics. Technical misunderstandings really mess up rehearsals so I try to be as accurate as

So all overtones are harmonics. All harmonics except the fundamental are overtones? Edit: I never realized the fundamental was a harmonic. I thought all harmonics had to be above the fundamental. I thought the overtones were the multiples (

Well, nobody cares enough. And that's probably why they find Electron attractive. No need to care, no expectations that you'll ship something good. Hey, look at Slack!

Off topic: I came back to Python after a few years and WOW the LSP is fast and helpful. Maybe that's always been the case but after Typescript forced me to turn my vim into an IDE, Python really outshines it on the tooling. Edit: the p

Don't you need the armies to protect the infrastructure that powers bitcoin? And if you get to the point where you don't need armies, do you need a massive global network to verify you can trust the people you're doing busine

I recently moved. My last neighborhood had aggressive moderation; by the time you clicked a notification for a political thread it'd be gone. In my new neighborhood we're still arguing about Trump yard signs.

You're attacking a straw man. My point is that there's a method by which we start from observations and, through a process that (critically) involves other people, we reach an objective understanding of a subject. The observation
