For me it was just a week until I was as good as I had been in sublime; all uphill from there. Now I have to use all the time I save to mop people's drool off the floor behind me.

And taking the thing down for 12 hours, 1/4 of every weekend could possibly be good in what way? Take it down on Tuesdays from 10pm to 10am Wednesday. Are you thinking in context or just being contrary?

I've been using Nightly as much as I can, but with the dev tools open sometimes it likes to take a 30 second break before sending a request. I really tried. FF- see you in another 6 months.

You're looking for regular business advice, not "startup advice" from YC. They advise particular classes of businesses extremely effectively.

Two nines isn't very many nines. I've had problems with PA 100% of the time. Must be me, right? The only PA solution I know is purging it from my system.

People who use buzzwords think they are being honest. Or, they look at honesty differently than some others. I think the biggest case of "false advertising" is that anyone has ever been held to account for it.

Magit is the only git tool worth using other than`git` itself. Only criticism is that it's too easy and fast.

These guitar hero style alternative notations are a major problem IMO. It's extra problematic to advertise it as "learn music" when really it's giving you a crutch to avoid learning music.

You don't know what you're missing. Want to be a real beast? Learn vim and emacs, both. You want an editor where "literally all the hotkeys" is literally meaningless.

I used TextMate and then Sublime for the first half of my 10 year career. It took seeing a coworker use vim to sell me on it, and within two weeks I was a better text editor than ever before. You all know the rest of the story, but I'

The report found human error was equally to blame and went out of its way to say that self driving cars are the future. This article is sensationalizing.

I agree, I think, but the points are made so badly I cringed as I read. Every point is made by begging the question. It's dripping with pro-sales bias. There's no content here, just preaching to the choir.

You over generalize you citation [1]. it's not reasonable to assume the way we report our sexual history is the same as the way we report anything else.

I think greasing the squeaky wheel is a bad executive decision. It sets precedent, and rewards political behavior above actual work output. If you have to ask for a raise, you either don't deserve it or management is broken.

I think this post is aimed more generally than just at programmers. In my experience, I've found more perfectionism everywhere else in the business. Bias: I'm a programmer and I believe I take the time to do the job the best I can

I have a personal Jenkins that's been running for years. Adding new jobs isn't yak shaving; it's a two minute task that gives me CD. Same with my AWS "framework". And my CSS "framework" and my React compo

It's not about your opinion. Of course you think what you're doing is ok, everyone does. Fortunately we have a general consensus (and laws) that say what you did was wrong. Own it.
