Always test your emails with actual sending disabled. Especially right after changing the email infrastructure. Email mistakes like this seem inevitable, and the only solution in my experience is a ridiculous over-abundance of caution. Can

Was this really just last month? I feel like I participated in outrage over the removal of "don't be evil" last year or the year before. And it's not like it ever meant anything. I agree terrible companies are terrible

There is a feedback loop between the over-availability of protein, the way it's marketed, and our eating habits. A global meat eating detente (I'm not saying we should all become vegetarian) would be good for the environment, ani

This takes extraordinary discipline on the part of the in-office team. Fortunately, everything that's good for a remote-first culture is also just good for communication in general. A culture of documenting everything, living in publ

Neither does the regular death penalty un-murder anyone. But as long as our society feels it has the right to end human lives, it should absolutely have the right to dissolve corporations; and corporations are capable of much greater harm

Oh, also: https://www.openshift.com/products/pricing/ is kind of like what you're talking about. It may not have everything, but it's managed k8s on your cloud with support.

If you bought all of this pre-made from a vendor, you'd be tied to that vendor, subject to their pricing whims, support SLA, etc. Maybe they'd be multi-cloud, maybe not.

Right. You actually stop getting "unfair" interviews once everyone can tell you'd just pass them anyway.

You're not seeing the candidates who pass "bad" interviews, who aren't complaining, and who like their jobs because the bar is high.

If you're really at that point in your career, you should find both that tech screens are easy and also that there are fewer of them.

Anyone thinking of outsourcing product engineering should try it. American engineers aren't in any danger.

Candidates aren't supposed to like interviews. That's like saying you're supposed to like final exams at school. They should be fair, but you have no rights beyond that.

This might make sense if your engineering team finishes the roadmap and then reduces tech debt to a level they are comfortable with... but since I'm sure that's not the case, you should be happy with 2/5ths of their time.

My prediction: response bias will drive only the bottom of the talent curve towards these postings. This reinforces a bubble in which it's OK for candidates to decide what qualifies them for a job and shame companies over sour grapes.

That seems overkill... to ask any js lib author who transforms a string to another string to use this API. The async version doesn't even use promises, so can't be `await`ed... why should anyone choose to do this? Edit: Kay it r
