It's not like the industry figured out how to retain men to begin with. Almost every tech company I've been in, I've seen people of both genders move in and out constantly. Programmers have been complaining about management s

Were there really any local engineers? If so, why haven't they built anything before the arrival of China?

I wonder how much Japan spends on that front, or if it's even official state policy to make the world love it.

It's a serious question because that is not the normal state of affairs. Part of being a responsible adult should be about wisely choosing a career that fits with who you are and has a reasonable future. If you choose that kind of care

Why do tens of thousands of people have to compete for a small number of positions? Something it's clearly wrong. It seems like the study treats working in a job as a favor received by the peasants from the slave masters. Or, the study

I've never seen anyone conflate TypeScript with angular before GP's comment. (And I happen to agree with him on angular being confusing and not well designed)

I used to think the same, until I started using VS code and it completely blew me away! I don't care if it's written on to of a browser or in assembly. I just know it's the best text editor I've used so far.

"You" is not an atomic Unit. Think of it this way. When you type something to google, what is the "Google" that is answering your question? "Where" is it?

This is similar to people measuring popularity of a library or language by stackoverflow question counts. Sure, you can't get a lot of questions for an obscure library that on one uses, but the mere fact that tons of people post questi

Using the presence of whiteboard questions as a metric for interview quality seems rather pointless to me. Whiteboards questions can be very good or can be very bad or anywhere in between. Just like any interview question in general. I for

If you want to dedicate your life in advocacy for JavaScript replacement, go ahead, but I think that would not be a wise decision for one to make.

RMS definition of free still leads to free as in beer because it requires that the user has the freedom to distribute the sides for free (as in beer).

IMO this is a side product of the "software must be free" mentality. Frankly, software should not be free. When you let people give you things for free, you basically let them control you and take away your freedom.
