What about the stress of continuous evaluation? How does the company view that? Standards are great to maintain, but people aren't robots. I question the value of the word 'review' in this context and its blocking nature. Pai

"He predicted that, 50 years from now, electric aeroplanes would be "transporting up to 50 people"." Shame the mega storms that are swirling the planet at that point will probably rip the planes out of the sky. 50 years

I like this, but I think it needs a little more emphasis on the UX of what you are going to listen to and for how long. Perhaps even embed the player under the link? How about a play count as a measure of popularity instead of just discussi

Elon Musk is the brand investors invest in, not tesla, not spacex. As he says, he is the pot of money - he is the core driver. I personally applaud his bravery, changing the established order is hard and carries great risk. He is the real c

When you are talking about structural failure of a system - how about an action that fails 80-99% of the time? I'd consider that a failure. Internet advertising as an action created by companies is a complete failed system propped up b

One of the stark realities of climate change is that as the effects get worse, there will be increasing oil and fossil fuel divestment. Makes no sense at all to me to be investing mid/long term in a source of energy that everyone ultim

"Might is right" pretty much sums up the global legal infrastructure everywhere. USA is not party to some special case here, I think all hacking activity should be high risk for the individual(because all hacking is not ethical) a

I would argue that the DOM is broken for current requirements and their approach is actually quite sensible - circumvent it. What I would have like to have seen is a proper, UX designer led update to hardware accelerated UIML language that

I am perplexed. I for one am running a project that would have absolutely embraced famo.us as part of the UX. There have been lots of smoke and mirrors, a few emails dotted in to ensure we didn't think the development team had died. I

Your choice is up to you. I am not into homeopathy, or blind faith of any kind really. I am not criticising science, just saying it is not very useful at making predictions of bad things that have no past occurrence. Science is about discov

Nope, same process whichever you use. The initial files will be rasterised - so you won't be able to get the vector benefits of svg unless you export paths to illustrator - which is a bit shit and tedious. PSD to * is such a bad, bad a

Yes, icons and small motifs made in Illustrator and SVG using pixel preview is ace. Looks lovely on retina too. I do that and fall back to png for devices that can't handle svg.

You mean a web designer? or just a designer? If you are going to design for the web and you DON'T know HTML and CSS then you are pretty fucked.

Yes, that's why I said use it as part of a set of tools. It is useful of course, but over reliance on it as a tool for designing is a continuing issue for development teams all over the world, right now. People waste a lot of time iter

Don't use photoshop to design interfaces, use css, html, illustrator and photoshop to design interfaces. Interfaces are not two dimensional and static, they are three dimensional (time) in the sense that hey have to be interactive. Fla
