Cool hack. Funny to see them drive onto RT 2 after alewife and have a 25 mph limit as everyone floors it. Also not sure where an mbta train ever hits 55.

I have two airtags on me at all time. So my wife can find my wallet or my keys. I have an android. The iPhone network is larger so Apple seems more useful. And I can do nothing about these alerts.

let me put it this way. As an EVSE owner I see a direct correlation between how far I can go between chargers if I drive 65 vs 75. Because I have to stretch out where I am going to hit a fast charger. I see F150s going 80. Do you think

of course. But people - real people - will compare DC Fast Charges with traditional gas stations. So you aren't really doing a fair comparison here. Let me put it another way - do we think that getting people to convert from ICE to E

Sure. I home charge. But many American's drive for work. Trades people, people going on vacation, sales people. Many vehicles can't just charge at home. Because there is no home, or apartments, or whatever. Get out on the ro

EV charging stations shouldn't be making money yet! In my neck of the woods Electrify America prices are around $.64 / kw. I am still on the free plan but if I was paying for that a fill up from 20-80% that would be ~ $30. GAS I

When you have billions of objects this is really the only way to go - and build workflows around inventory (including athena, spark, etc)

I am really intrigued by organizations that build effective test cultures. I am not interested in people who have testing teams (ala how it was done before, say 2004) or teams that simply do unit tests and integration tests. I am interest

say you want to store 10 million records. if you do this as a files in a say, one big directory (or even a sharded directory hiearchy), you have to update the parent directory (inode) when you create a new file (because the directory mtime

On my AWS service (EFS) many customers do use lots of small files. And for legacy apps there is nothing much you can do, but as a PSA, use the right tool for the job :) many people use file systems as databases when a database would be more

this is a pretty standard performance win to avoid constantly getting the time when you don't need it. Certainly seen this win at work (AWS) but also likely in various other projects repeatedly. But bias for action for getting it don

We are 5-10 years too early to be renting EVs. I have seen folks in Vermont who have rental EVs because those were the last on the lot. There is not enough infra, you need a bunch of apps, you need to understand how EVs work with weather

Fast charging is important. However, getting the most out of a level 2 charger is also important. My Ioniq 5 can't pull more than 6.5kw because of faulty hardware in the vehicle (I think the inverter over heats and the circuitry shut

Not sure I have a long range EV with the Ioniq 5. But in the winter with precoditioning I basically only get 2 1/2 hours. You can't run the battery to 0, precoditioning sucks up a ton of energy, and you need to get to a fast cha

I might say it a bit differently. The amazon writing style is to avoid flowery prose, weasel words (maybe, perhaps, etc), give precise dates, use data, etc. I'd love a model that I could hand to engineers to help them write in this s

At AWS on my service we have lots of microservices (and I think we need them at our scale), but they also share a bunch of the same code. So one problem is reasoning about when your random java library gets merged into some component and it

Yes. The only way I know to charge my ioniq5 is by doing it via the app to get the free charging. I didn't know I could make it my promo plan the default plan for tap to paly.

Is there any technical reason you can't build an adapter from NACS to CCS1? We have adapters for Tesla destination chargers (NACS without fast charging??) to J1772 and they work just fine.
