Actually that sounds amazing: you seem to want to do what you do and do that right, nothing more, nothing less. There are only so many L+1 spots, someone who wants to do actual work in the team rather than invest a lot of time getting such

Quite the irony that smartphones as the most successful incarnation of modern computers are the antithesis to this. Folders are hidden, no default text editor, lock-ins everywhere you look.

at least on the iMac it doesn't work, tried: ioreg -l -f | grep nits which should list properties of all objects, and the display I could find: ioreg -r -c AppleBacklightDisplay

After your post and looking at the keyboard I finally understand how mechanical keyboard enthusiasts can use winkeyless keyboards. You probably won’t need caps lock and it’s enough to have command and alt at the bottom. Too bad windows and

Sounds good - the menu based customer care is pretty good there too, and they tend to actually want to resolve issues unlike many other sites (though that might also depend on the cost benefit analysis) might be the basis many other sites a

Non tech folks come up quite often: I disagree with that, chatbots often require talking to them in a precise language to find an answer or reply in a strange way if they don’t have an answer, I think that’s even worse for a non tech savvy

A/B test that: a well thought through UI vs a bot. I genuinely think it would be worse in time required for resolution, choice by the users. Obviously not one size fits all but in simple cases I doubt that even the non tech savvy user

There’s a special little place in hell for whoever decided the whole world needed chat bots for every crappy website. Why would I want to try to articulate something that could be found in a simple tree? Just give me direct access. I don’t

I prefer having a laptop that's powerful enough on its own, this gives me a lot of freedom when the internet is bad. I also like to have a desktop with a nice screen and a bit more power that I can use to run things that take a bit lon

Laptops in the early 2010s kind of reached a level of being adequate enough for most use-cases that it's hard to really justify an upgrade. I feel, as I write this on my late 2013 MacBook Pro, that it's powerful enough for most no

They could, but I think the German laws are way too complicated and limiting to serve their actual purpose. For instance many tax breaks will only work if some very tight conditions are met, like spending a certain amount on something or if

What's the deal with moving to Berlin anyway? Infrastructure is pretty bad (try getting good internet or mobile reception, even as a business), as are labor and tax laws and the motivation of most employees is pretty low as a result (h

That's the state right now with almost all of the population vaccinated. I don't think it's for the best, it ignores any other medical conditions and offers no way to double check a result that could come from a dodgy test ce

Makes me wonder how much of the rapidly established covid testing infrastructure around the world delivers actual results. Fun fact: In some places like Singapore you don't even get the chance to test again to verify the result, you ju
