When I used to program in C decades ago, I felt the need to read literature, write small test programs etc - before launching into the actual problem solving/solution building exercise. That is, I wanted some sort of internal "arm

I get what you mean, but I have "strengthened my will" against this, I suppose. There are games like the Dark Souls/Bloodborne series, where you can "quit" anytime, and if you restart, you are in the exact same spot

I've never played any DnD, but I've spent countless hours playing various video game RPG's from the Baldur's Gate series (based on the ADnD rules) all the way up to modern RPG's like Dragon Age and Pillars of Eterni

A few years ago, I dabbled with the idea of building a "shared clipboard" application across platforms and decided to use Redis - esply the pub/sub mechanism - for this. I ended up discovering and using hiredis[0] (which I ca

After close to a decade of working in DK, I found their Big IT corporate processes resembling a Deathstar. Looks powerful from a distance, but flaws/inefficiencies can be discerned if you happen to be at close quarters. Also, they adva

Good luck! I'm always pleased to see news about S76 pop-up on HN. I'm a proud owner of two S76 laptops, a Galago Pro from late 2014 and an Oryx Pro from mid-2016. Both are going strong (though the Galago needs to be plugged in, th

Been listening to this since I discovered it on HN this morning. A lot of it reminds of the Vangelis/Blade Runner OST. Great work!

I was wondering today after reading this - what are the statistics on the next stages of the lives of these children? Saving their lives is, undoubtedly, the most important thing anyone can do. I think it's also important to see that t

I have 2 System76 Ubuntu laptops and I love them both. One is a 14" Galaga UltraPro from 2014 (they don't have this model anymore) and more recently their new 15" Oryx Pro. Nice solid builds, good keyboards (apparently there

I purchased a System76 Galago UltraPro (this model does not seem to be available anymore) at the end of 2014. I have been observing System76 for a year or more before I caved in and purchased this. I live in Finland - and they shipped it ac

I do not know any Python (yet) - and my comment is probably off-topic. I spent a fall semester at Northeastern U, Boston in '97 and took a graduate course in Data Structures which was taught in C. I loved this course and finished top o
