Constantly? Some people can take a break in the morning and review a few PR’s and some in the afternoon. No one needs to drop what they’re doing.

The ‘design everything as a publicly accessible API’ directive seems to play to this as well. If all your data / services are available and must be documented then a lot of communication overhead can be eliminated.

You are exactly correct. As to why it’s unpopular, I believe it’s just that no one has given it a fair try. Once you have done it for at least 20 hours a week for a few weeks you will understand that typing is not and has never been the bot

It’s not just for people with ADHD. Someone will build this very soon and people will use it a lot. Hopefully Apple builds it because I guess I trust them a little more.

While I agree with this concept, I don't think it is applicable here. Docker compose files and k8s yaml are basically just two different syntaxes, saying the same thing. Translating from one syntax to another is one of the best use cas

I don’t give a shit about first amendment interpretations and I agree completely that laws need an update. How about this: ban biometric detection. Ban facial recognition. Throw the CEO in jail if a company breaks the ban. That would be a g

This American is all for banning facial recognition, with stiff penalties for the person in charge of any company or agency who breaks this ban. The US is not China and the government exists to serve and protect its citizens. At least in th

Thanks to you and GP for a reasoned response. Appropriately taxing the wealthy is 100% something we also need to do and yes, I am skeptical that the current administration will move in that direction. Ditto cuts to the monstrous military in

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say I’m disappointed you didn’t end up extracting a couple thousand dollars from the HOA. Then again, maybe there’s less hate for HOA’s here than in other spaces. This is typical HOA behavior!

It does seem like it's time to stop letting this "industry" profit off the misfortune of its customers. Making all of these a public service instead of private industry makes sense at this point.

This is a really good read. It talks about all kinds of systems which become their own entity. Nobody likes them. They make things worse for everybody. But somehow we get trapped in these downward spirals and there’s seemingly no way out.
