Yeah, tech has a starting salary advantage but FAANG just doesn't compare on the upside. What's the top 10% of FAANG outcomes (for Harvard grads) after 5 years? 500k, maybe? The jump to MD in finance makes 1M+ something like 10-20

5 year EV is much lower in tech than finance for Harvard grads. I'm not sure ab consulting. Consulting and tech have similar starting salaries, but consider finance/hedge fund engineer starting tc is about 3-4x tech for top 3 grad

Yes, and the gap grows even wider when you normalize for per-professional degree percentages (i.e. STEM/pharm/premed/prelaw/military inflating the bottom half of the curve)

This argument is specifically, and repeatedly, addressed by Greenwald in his article. [1] > The Hunter Biden documents have at least as much verification as those other archives that were widely reported. There are sources in the email c

The problem with most of this crypto-anarchist rhetoric is that it establishes a value system that does not reflect the realities of the real world. decentralization, democracy = good and the opposite = bad runs up against fundamental value

I think you've mixed up your logic a bit. A slow visual reaction time means that surgeons are already reacting slower in the real world. Any latency added (!!) by a network further adds to the delay between surgeon reaction and real wo

NewHope has not been proven to be quantum resistant. I think researchers generally believe that NewHope will be proven to be quantum resistant, but there is the problem of adapting Micciancio's regular lattice proof to ideal lattices.

I think, generally, the concern with quantum resistant cryptography is that, like homomorphic encryption schemes, it’s unworkably slow right now.
