There's way more to this story as people are pointing out. I talk about a lot of this stuff with nutrition experts on my podcast http://peak-human.com and am getting the author of this article on soon.

If anyone is trying to lose weight and wants to try this simple and cheap diet (or similar) I would love to document it for the film. Contact me at hi@foodlies.org

I was being coy. I've read Nina's book and heavily researched all of this. I'm glad you and other people know about this stuff. Let's make this common knowledge!

I'm not a fan of a vegetarian diet because it leaves out the most nutrient dense foods. I haven't done research into it specifically, but I would avoid carbs and sugar (and all processed foods), and eat a lot of avocado and protei

Dietary cholesterol is actually not bad - check out this article for a good overview https://chriskresser.com/the-diet-heart-myth-cholesterol-and... Have been researching this for a long time. It was hard for me to believe

http://nutritiondata.self.com uses the USDA database. I made a diet with only 5 foods (plus butter) that is ideal for human health and weight loss (posted on this thread).

The diet I created and posted here is only $2,000 per year and includes fresh, nutritious foods that don't detract from your health like most of those foods loaded with carbohydrate and sugar would in your example. Obviously they aren&

Very cool. I just did a similar exercise also based on a lot of research (posted it on this thread). Interested in your thoughts.

I just did my own version of this diet with a nutrient-dense low-carb approach. Ground beef: $3.50/lb = $2.19/day Sardines: $9.99 for 6 - 4.375 oz = $1.67/can = $1.67/day Fresh spinach: $3.99/2.5 lb (.35 cents/

Not correct - this is (very successful) vegan propaganda. Look into it more. I interviewed Dr. Shawn Baker MD who has done this for a year now. As carb intake decreases the need for vitamin C decreases. He takes no supplements and is in per

There's no reason to ever go back to eating carbs, all they do is damage. There actually isn't a ton of hormones and antibiotics in grocery store meat, it's mostly vegan propaganda I believed in until last week when I actuall

Shawn Baker! I interviewed him for my film. I'm not a fan of this diet, but strongly believe in not eating carbs and sugar. I feel best when I eat red meat and green vegetables.

I agree. All meat is too extreme... What makes low carb diets great is that they exclude grains and sugar which are the real problem.

Going to the extreme and eating only meat is a bit bonkers. The main problem with our diet and what causes the most disease and death are carbs and sugar. Take a look at this regarding nutrients and plants http://www.zoeharcombe.

Agree with everything here. For us non-technical people, it's just a matter of skipping over the programming stuff. You just have a blindness for these articles - after a bit of practice they just disappear and all the other gems shine
