Yes that is the intention of SS. I don't know if I agree with your example figures. SS was meant to be self-funding, and lately it hasn't been. This is partially because people are living longer. Furthermore, the decline of pensio

It seems like that “lack of motivation” applies to many other medical conditions as well, and people like me who actually want to and have and will commit to the “hard fix” are confused about just how “incurable” something is, and whether s

Watching a grown man beg Elon musk for his job on a social media platform is not something I expected to ever see. It's been two weeks- if his paycheck didn't come through, he has his answer. Obviously a s-show led by Elon, but on

The kinds of people who will read this comment are by and large not the people who need to take heed of its message. You’re yelling “fire” in a movie theater full of deaf people.

There's a lack of awareness too - I saw three orthopedic surgeons and one neurologist and none asked me about, mentioned, or tested me for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (which is likely what you had based on what fixed your symptoms). I onl

The main thing I notice is searching for an app in the search menu takes a long time. Opening apps also takes several seconds, and the phone will often get very hot just from normal use, like the CPU is being pegged just trying to run iOS.

I tried an MX Master 3 and 2S, I also have the MX Ergo trackball mouse and the Logitech vertical mouse. The vertical mouse is what I ended up with, but for years I would switch mice, switch between several mice within a day, switch hands -

My personal trainer told me the same- you won't gain flexibility by "forcing" the stretch, only by stretching just beyond where the muscle wants to stop, holding it there for around 30 seconds (and you should feel a "rel

If I were you I would find out which “RSI” you have. Mine wasn’t from “overuse” per sé, just posture and needing to stretch/exercise. If your RSI is Carpal Tunnel or Cubital Tunnel Syndrome, a quick and easy surgery is the answer. If y

Why do they block Serbia? I work with a Serbian offshore team (Intens) and my understanding of Serbia is they have one foot in Russia and one in the rest of the world, kind of like Belarus (but the leader isn't in the pocket of Putin),

I'm not surprised this comment is being read as "all managers were former-bad devs". Or maybe it's that some bad devs stay bad'n. Whatevs. Can't come up with empirical data for this one, have to rely on anecdot

I very much doubt what you’re describing is a statistical anomaly. I think just about everyone here would agree the worst devs either become managers, or move to QA/BA.

Replace “data scientists” with “software engineers” and you have another accurate insight. They don’t want to listen to us about how to write software or derive value from data.

Simple surgery to get rid of that carpal tunnel syndrome if you want it… by this time next month you could be pain-free and back at it without having to wear braces or do whatever you do to manage symptoms (assuming CTS is what you have).

Reminder that “RSI” isn’t a diagnosis, it just means “an appendage hurts, apparently as a result of repetitive movements”. If you want to effectively treat your “RSI”, it’s vital that you figure out the actual cause of pain/tingling&#x

So it would seem. This doesn’t surprise me. There isn’t a way (that I’m aware of) for a web app driven by say a RESTful API to guarantee the API is only used via a web browser rather than hit via Postman, cURL or some side project someone b

I don’t think so… I mean which inflation figure are you talking about? The one that happens to be about what a 30-year mortgage would also be right now? That’s not usually the case. Mortgage rates are “fed benchmark” + a couple percentage p

I agree with this, but I wonder if the stats aren’t biased a bit because it probably is harder for someone from Central America to get to Canada than the US. I mean you have to go through the US to get to Canada. It sounds like, objectively
