Because there was a law passed in the United States in 1978 called "The Pregnancy Discrimination Act" which makes it illegal to fire people based on their pregnancy status. So assuming the commenter is in the US, it's the law

If google uses their dominant search position to make sure that only google place links are ever seen and clicked, others might have trouble providing any service at all which does not go through google. But Google isn't a gatekeeper

I think on a few levels, MIT is not the source of problems in the US university system. People do not tend to graduate MIT in deep debt and without job prospects.

There is no GitHub or StackOverflow for mechanical engineering, civil engineering, high-voltage electrical engineering, biotech lab work, etc. Would you hire an accountant for your business who was just enthusiastic and good with Google? Yo

In most other Western countries the universities are pretty much the same as American ones, just without the crippling costs. U of T charges $10K USD annually for tuition, for an undergrad science degree, for a Canadian. McGill charges Queb

This being fiction and not reality, the dwarfish ability to build underground structures is actually literally innate. Not genetic perhaps, but somehow bound to dwarves racially. Remember this is the same game that prohibited halflings from

So... a lot of comments in this thread seem to equate "engineering grad school" with CS or EE. There are some other branches of engineering too and the non-EE types outnumber the EE's. Pretty sure the programs in questions ar

So... there actually wasn't an experience system in Classic Traveller. MegaTraveller had one but I don't think it actually had any relation to age or existing skill levels, just whether the character accomplished tasks or not. Any

Given the descriptions usually associated with subraces like the Drow or Mountain Dwarves I'm not sure if the racial stereotyping is a lot more offensive than the fact that the groups as portrayed have non-existent or stone-age economi
