I just tried to explain why the .kz email-address would be problematic for germans. I didn't propose that this should be the general rule for all the internet. Personally I don't have a problem if someone from another country emai

If you asked 100 people in Germany(!) what "KZ" stands for the result would be something like 95 say "Konzentrationslager", 5 say "I don't know" and 0 "ISO code for Kazakhstan".

So how is it safe with people if there is no oxygen left to breathe? Reminds me of my first trip to a datacenter, where the guy who accompanied us said: "In the event of a fire this room is filled with nitrogen in 20 seconds. But don&#

My bet is on GPT-2 (GPT-3 would probably generate better text). This whole reply just isn't coherent (first it's a defence contract, then it's learning software for kids?). So either AI generated or someone with some mental i

So did the bank close an account with a lot of money in it, or did you write a cheque for an empty account?

Maybe at some point we'll invent a new greeting (like waving your fingers before your face) to prove we're really the person on the screen.

That would be reasonable if the phone owner was likely the victim of some targeted attack (beeing politician or something similar). But if it's just regular malware that was installed with a drive by download, I would trust the android

I'm only half serious ;) Of course this doesn't scale to infinity (work as slowly as possible), but I think some "tactical" inefficiencies are part of almost every project (especially in the public sector). But I didn&#x

The billable $300 an hour go to your company. So if your company can charge for more time because you spend more time searching, that's actually good for your employer!

This is probably the solution to getting something like this off the ground. If the minimum PoW is zero (so not participating) and a >0 PoW is seen as a positive flag in spam filters. However I guess that most Spammers don't even se

Isn't that true for most of AWS/EC2 ? A t2.2xlarge with 8 cores and 32 GB Ram costs $685 in 77 days. You can probably get an 8 core 32GB ram Intel/Amd machine for that price. Not a xeon, not "server-grade" but stil

Does anyone know a spotify-audiobook-client? What I'm thinking of is a website or app that lets you listen to audiobooks that are on spotify and saves your position per book, lets you browse and search only books without the music. I
