These articles are missing an important aspect of the vaccine: the immunity gained is non-sterilizing. [1] The vaccine stops the infection from becoming severe and spreading throughout the body, but it doesn't actually stop infection (

It’s nice to see a project that explains how it fits in the design space. Still after looking at this I get the feeling they haven’t really tried Cue in anger. I also think cue should be easier to introduce to a team precisely because it is

Richard Stalman and others that believe the GPL is generally the best license are not against ever using the MIT license. Stalman has been willing to be pragmatic and support tactical choices of other licenses besides GPL when licensing. So

I see Dhall mentioned in the comments. cue is another great configuration language: https://cuelang.org/ Both of these are actually designed well for dealing with the problem of configuration and it really shows.

The vaccine has 95% efficacy in initial controlled trials. It is almost impossible to reach (within 1%) of that same level of effectiveness in the real world as claimed here. The real world has a big chunk of the population with an immune s

All the current vaccines being rolled out give non-sterilizing immunity. This means the vaccinated still get infected in the upper respiratory tract and still transmit the virus (but perhaps 50% less transmission). The vaccine protects them

Many successful databases are open source. MongoDB (at least before the recent license change!) is a good example of a huge company where I doubt anyone would have made a noticeable business out of a proprietary version of the product.

The main business proposition of open source is that you can create a larger market. This is hinted at in the article by saying "easy distribution", but it isn't really discussed. The goal of open source is to create a market

I think you are right and we need to use the actual term "correlated". "linked" has a stronger connotation then "associated" for me, and some dictionary definitions show this stronger connotation as well.

This is a correlational study. So there is no causal link, there is a correlational association. I think the term "link" needs to be banned in this context. "associated" would be much clearer. Maybe the Hacker News mods

Just knowing the commands and their arguments (environment vars) with make is difficult. Env vars can easily have typos. With just you can actually list out all the commands.
