Anyone know of any open source or cheap web/browser apps that let you edit data in postgres tables? Using this tech or something more primitive? I want to get some end user feedback on predictive model outputs...

I get it, but there are just so many holes in this line of thinking. Once it becomes legal, the supply goes up, prices go down and it won't "get you through college". Plus I don't see why our decisions on prostitution ha

My anecdotes are my Bayesian truth, and they include neighbors and coworkers with longterm anosmia that I've never had friends experience before COVID. The article you mentioned didn't even address this rather well known symptom..

Just to chip in a comment about the size of Usenet... I did some analysis comparing Slashdot (with distributed moderation) traffic volumes to Usenet (centralized moderation) in the late 90s. If I recall, the peak volume of posts to the larg

Here's another paradox worth thinking about when trying to have incentive-only regulations (carrots without sticks.) You might think that higher rates would incent companies to weatherize, but actually they perversely might reduce ince

I heard on the news here in Texas that reporters indicated it takes a few days to switch, so while Griddy sent the email, their customers were not able to really act on the advice amidst the crisis. That said, I think it was bad advice from

A coworker of mine used Griddy before this event for about a year, but left it 6-9 months ago. To answer your question 2/3, when I tried to congratulate him on getting out of it before the storm, he was still pretty down on it. He

Whoever wrote this hasn't worked on medium-complicated data pipelines / ETL logic. It's pretty non-trivial to try to make an effective-dated slowly changing dimension with materialized views. A good tool makes the medium-diff

The deaths and impacts on the poor make it, to me an unacceptable tradeoff. I don't see why others states can do it and Texas couldn't or shouldn't. This is hindsight, but out past strategy, if it was intentional, was not opt

From an engineering standpoint, I agree that you want a true RCA and this event's RCA will be a bit different than 2011's. And this RCA (and its political consequences) will take time, doesn't need to be done right this minut

Good question. I am unclear about heaters but I do think some of them are out for some team members and you may be right on that. Ovens also are commonly gas but ones since 1990 require an electric light. But... stovetops which are gas do n
