The point of my comment is that with an imap on <a-j>, you can't input the character ê because it will trigger the mapping. This includes option+i, e on OS X.

Using the digraph will get around the insert-mode alt-key maps.

Only problem with those imaps is that now you can't type ì, ë, ê, or è. Vim is pretty dumb about utf-8. I'd also suggest using <C-o> instead of the <Esc>...i dance. Edit: "The way [Vim] stores alt+letter in its input queue

I don't like how it joins the summary line and the explanatory text with just a space. I'd recommend preserving blank lines in the commit message as line breaks.

Python's "and" is equivalent to Ruby's "&&". Python has no equivalent to Ruby's "and" which is copied from Perl. In other words, Ruby has only one way to express a boolean "and", "&&", but the existence of the flow-control

This cuts both ways. My RoR apps use gems that require other non-ruby libraries to be installed.

Sorry, I was mistaken--the sign column is placed between the fold column and the line numbers.

What colorscheme? Is it just not changing the default colors for the SignColumn group?

I hate it when plugins try to override my colorscheme, so I would highly discourage adding this to the plugin. To account for colorschemes that don't add colors for SignColumn without angering users, use the `default` keyword without the b

The NIH has been working hard at getting all NIH-funded research publications into a free database, PubMed Central. And I'm pretty sure all publications listed on CVs for NIH grant applications must include a PubMed Central ID.

Ruby's and and or are for flow control like if and unless , not binary logic operators like (or synonyms for) && and || .
