The program we used for "keyboarding" class required two spaces, too. (This was in 1998, but the program looked like something from the '80s.) The teacher had me evaluate a newer program (that looked more "Windows 95-ish") later in the ye

Do you use a proportional-width font for viewing code?

But you should always use "i.e." because it's an abbreviation for two words. And I can't even think of a case that you wouldn't follow it with a comma (i.e., "i.e.,"), so that doesn't conflict with the ". " end-of-sentence pattern.

Then write collection.length.should eq(2) But I see nothing wrong with the other once you know how the "have" matcher works. It will even let you write it { should have(2).items } when your subject is set up properly.

About the split keyboard he mentions: Am I the only person that hits 6 with the right index finger? A coworker has a similarly split keyboard and I can never type 6 on it.

I don't get it. How often do you need to change between complete opposites? (should/should_not, true/false, &&/||) And what's the point of changing "predicate?" to "true and (predicate?)" or "false or (predicate?)"

You have that backwards--Meta actually means "prepend Escape" (or 8th bit on, but that's another discussion).

ttymouse=xterm2 doesn't work with tmux. And generally, vim will set 'ttym' correctly for you.

When I showed up for my first day of work 8 years ago, a newly installed WinXP system awaited me. I had to patch the system that morning because it had been powered on and connected to the network for several days already.

No, Vim doesn't support - as a file name to read from stdin for the -u option, just as the file to open for editing.

^I is the same as I (because I is short for ^i). But really, you should just map to <Home> and <End>. Also, d$A is the same as C.

If that's your long-time username on the Internet, you could file an impersonation claim. But that will be a harder case to make for a common name.

Just know that Ctrl-c is different from Escape. It skips InsertLeave autocmds and cancels the count (i.e., 3aX<C-c> appends 1 'X', but 3aX<Esc> appends 3).
