Is this particularly widely used? I don't think I'm aware of TypeID either. I don't see why the author's pretty light solution is inferior to this library.

It's odd to me that they wanted to make a whole new "app" for this, rather than building in some sort of timeline into slides. Powerpoint supports automatically transitioning slides and auto playing video, so with some fancy

How many companies out there make TV-sized LED panels? There's a market for dumb TVs obviously. Feels like you could buy the panels, put them in a case with minimal controls, and ship. If you market it as some sort of "pro videoph

Is there any known reason why they didn't go for these scoops on a chain traveling along the side of the hill, like a funicular? [0] They already had a rather tall lift! Maybe that much water in buckets would be too heavy for the wate

I've always found it weird that the NPM ecosystem doesn't have something like Rake from the Ruby world to run tasks. Javascript things tend to be VERY task heavy, with dev servers, bundlers, testing, and coverage all being defined

"I wish the Xs at Y would make Y do Z" > "Hi, I'm a X from Y. Y already does Z. I did that last Tuesday." Always my favourite genre of interactions on this site.

Honestly there's still things from CS3 that are missing in Designer V2! Being able to auto-trace sketches is still something that Designer can't do. There isn't really much that I'm doing now in a vector editor, that I w

Fair, though I do think there's value you might be discounting here that ISN'T keyboard shortcuts. The market isn't all vim/emacs users, it's complex Omnifocus-style todo app users, who are frustrated with the lack

I am (personally) alright with this model. $150 is on par with OmniFocus Pro [0] which I've gotten easily more than $150 of value out of. (Including prior purchases of earlier versions, and similar price points.) With todo apps, I don&

To me, Rack and AR are scoped to a specific domain. HTTP request handling and database-backed models are naturally going to involve some internal noise since I don’t want to write a web server or a database interface layer. I want the thing

That is true, but the smallness of this service right now is definitely a benefit. I highly doubt most chat bots/automated scams will blindly visit any url sent to them. (Let alone render it in a browser, then interact with it)

Same, it also lines up culture internally. If you say you’re an in-office company up front, you know the people you hire can at least tolerate (even enjoy!) in-person work. I don’t think people realize how the minority of people that enjoy

I’m not sure if that’s their core business to be fair, I always thought modern age Dell made money off enterprise support and servers mainly? Though… that does make the stakes for losing good folks a lot higher as well.

If I had to guess, “plain Ruby” is ruby that fails with a sensible stack trace without internal things showing up. That’s always been my trouble with complex abstractions, it can make it very difficult to use with a debugger especially, whi
