No. It's a shared mission. Both the NSC and CDC have significant national security crossover. And I would encourage curious people to research the reasoning behind some of the proposed CDC budget reductions. I can see how the term &quo

If I understand correctly, why do you think it's proper for the organizers and attendees of SXSW who would lose money if the event was cancelled, then be compensated for such losses by other individuals who DO NOT consent to bear such

Would you disqualify other novels based in the politics and distinct time periods in other countries?

Absolutely agree! I even do this with a local Chinese restaurant. We email them our order and they'll call back if there's a question. They only called back once on a pretty big order.

I found this great food delivery app. It's you! How it works is, you actually call and speak to someone at the restaurant you want to order from. They take your order, and at a pre-arranged time, you get into your car and go pick it up

We'll see. I've got enough money to survive single-payer, do you?

Would the right thing be single-payer or what would have to replace it once the economy and the medical profession have been destroyed?

My neighbor, a colorectal surgeon and very into what he does, has remarked on several occasions that if single payer ever happens, he and most of the other surgeons he knows will likely walk away from the profession very shortly thereafter.

I feel your disdain! I'm an old-timer and remember complaining about using those new-fangled cascading style sheets instead of just putting everything in html tag attributes. And don't get me started about having been forced to us

I'm not going to disagree with anything you've said. I would just maintain that connecting policy initiatives to the real world does tend to be rather complex in terms of budgeting, administration, staffing and oversight. Now this

Of course you're getting grayed down for stating the obvious because you CANNOT be telling HN readers that policy issues are too complex for them to understand. You can tell me that some policy issues are too complex for me to understa

Absolutely. I should have added that such new features whatever they may be could be touted as the lever to move Perl 5 to Perl 7 and be done with the whole Perl 6 thing. And whatever name is given to Perl 6, great. Let it find its way in t

This is a great idea. If Perl 6 got a new name, some new branding, and Perl 5 added a few new features and polish, the language would suddenly awaken from its 20 year nightmare.

Got it. Thanks. I'm out on the periphery, and while I'm aware of the protocol, I'm rather new to OAuth on a development level. After looking at the cURL site, it looks like someone had the need and the will to bake in kerbero

Your comment is very interesting, but I have to ask, perhaps naively, is curl the right place "to do OAuth"? Isn't its implementation more of an application level initiative? I am interested in this because we're startin

A client of ours bought a CRM on Codecanyon and I have to say that it's pretty impressive. It's called Perfex. It's written in CodeIgniter and has a lot of hooks so we were able to trick it out quite extensively. And it will

It was a rhetorical question based on a well established meme, but HN is generally a humor-free zone. And does one really need a philosophy degree to seek the truth? It's not that hard to find.
