Indeed. I've been burned enough times that I'd actually join a class action lawsuit at this point. It's pretty ridiculous. Amazon needs to take full responsibility for counterfeiting. I'm tempted to charge back certain

I don't think Amazon has fully crossed any lines just yet, but I do think it's bound to happen fairly soon just due to scale. My point is meant to compare antitrust enforcement to the other mechanisms that are viewed by some as ne

I would much rather that Bezos be allowed to keep all of his capital gains but have appropriate antitrust enforcement step in and reduce Amazon's market power a bit. The recent upsurge of counterfeit products are evidence that Amazon i

This is great. Why have I never heard anyone make this argument over beers when the debating starts? Seems like critiques of a programming language or paradigm are usually made by someone imagining a very bad codebase from their past.

My view is very pragmatic: Some code is far easier to write quickly and correctly using a TDD approach. In other cases the cost of refactoring with TDD is very high if any significant design or architecture changes occur, so in those cases

I think that the ideological shift toward hating/resenting foreign people is a bigger problem than the fraud inflicted on some consumers due to the practice, yes.

True. Countries with lax emissions laws arbitrage environmental damage in exchange for short-term profits. When we import goods from these countries, we too arbitrage environmental damage for short-term profits. Since the environment is glo

Amazon makes tremendous profit on all of the counterfeit goods, so unless customers resort do doing credit card chargebacks Amazon is unlikely to notice. Chances are chargebacks would result in account termination, so Amazon's market

I'm still a loyal Amazon shopper but I've been victimized by this many times. The worst part is that some of the counterfeit items will actually cause property damage when they malfunction (chargers, batteries, etc.) Others are s

I have responded in detail to the accusation you made of whataboutism in one of my other replies. It only applies when someone is a partisan trying to distract or persuade in an argument against another partisan. As I pointed out in that m

I'm not sure if you are serious or if you are trolling. It is you who are making the claim that needs to be supported by evidence. Namely, this is the claim that RT's journalism is obviously sub-standard compared to US media/

I think rather than using a silly made-up word like whataboutism you should simply call out someone's views or comment specifically for whatever logical error you think it contains. I looked at the definition of whataboutism on Wikiped

I don't watch cable news because the few times I have watched it lately it has been of very poor quality. Notably, Rachel Maddow has been caught embellishing the Russia story to the point where I think it's clear she has a strong
