The key is to quickly drive attendance by grabbing the transient eye of social media darlings long enough to make a quick buck before they get bored, the mainstream media catches on, and the inevitable backlash begins.

I know it's easy to hate on hipsters, but JFC I think this article shaved five years off my life through the sudden burst of unbridled rage it induced in me.

I'm not sure if it's reassuring or utterly disheartening that even somebody as brilliant as Feynman can be laid low with impostor syndrome.

Regulators move at the speed of government, not the speed of technology. However, if you think financial regulators are at all happy with the nature of ICOs you only have to read between the lines of what they have said.

Quite. Typeclasses are Haskell's way of doing ad hoc polymorphism. C++ has ad hoc polymorphism too, but it's via templates not classes.

I don't think having support for multiple orchestrators is valuable except as a transitional thing. In this case, presumably, transitioning from Swarm to K8S. Nobody is gonna want the hassle of supporting both outside a transition.

Why wouldn't you start with the one with the strongest mindshare and reputation? Even a cursory amount of googling shows there's a strong sentiment bias towards K8S over Swarm, it's not surprising that's what most people

K8S is looking for all the world like it's becoming the One True Container Orchestration Platform. Obviously Docker can't admit that because it has investors, and one thing you can't afford to do with investors is be honest.

This seems a lot to me like Docker Inc. caving in to what has been painfully obvious for a while: K8s won and Swarm/Mesos lost the battle for hearts and minds in container orchestration. We can argue about why it happened, but I got th

For a vulnerability of this magnitude, it's not unusual for a responsible disclosure to have a five month review window. e.g. Dan Kaminsky's discovery of DNS cache poisoning had a 5 month responsible disclosure embargo.

This, of course, all came hot on the heels of the Great Plague of 1665. It was not a good year to be a Londoner. Though they couldn't have known it, these two events were major catalysts in London's renaissance and evolution into

I always enjoy Rich's and Cognitect's increasingly futile attempts to bait and switch the Clojure community into using his expensive proprietary database, Datomic. I love Clojure, it's a beautiful language, but its march has

Cognitect killed Clojure. Cognitect decided to repurpose Clojure as little more than a tool to sell licenses to their proprietary database, Datomic. This, for obvious reasons, pissed off a lot of people who'd previously supported Hicke

Fairly brutal for a Jepsen report. What fascinates me about the now-known-to-be-untrue claims in the Hazelcast documentation is that the claims were made despite the developers having know way of knowing if they were true because they’d not
