Don't worry, if this were to ever catch on it would be incorporated into browsers, meaning the net effect is just to make browsers more complicated.

I think the real question with the probability of life starting is eactly how easy it is to create life or even a good reproducing state given the proper conditions. What makes it dificult is that probabilities shrink very rapidly. If you c

All the money coming from the fed must be paid back, I believe. It seems like this will be difficult to repay. Usually with a loan a business would invest in capital or something similar and there is no value lost. Then there is the hope of

It is useful to think about all the energy in the problem. There is a case where the only energy in the problem is the kinetic energy of the spaceship and the potential energy from gravity. That is the case of firing the spaceship with a gi

I have been taking my temperature every day, maybe a few times a day for over a month. I was just curious to see how helpful this is related to COVID-19. Anyway, what I did see, for what it is worth, was my temperature change by a lot over

I had a similar experience at a startup. The business manager would only bring a technical problem if he had a solution. And of course, he wasn't really in a good position to present solutions to these problems. It is a great trait for

The difference between a startup and a big company is not just dollars. Making a product in a startup is sort of a process of discovery. In a big company they will generally have a pretty well defined picture of what they want. When a start

What would be a good use of gas stations for electric cars is battery swapping. It is too early to make this mandatory but I think it might be time to start working on this idea. (It has been looked into before.)

True, this was just an observation that, as the article said, there probably is more waste when you eat at a restaurant as compared to eating at home. They have a one-size-fits all problem in portion serving.

I expect people leave a lot of food uneaten at restaurants. The times I completely clear my plate, which should be the norm, I often get the same comment from the waiter, "Wow, you really liked that."

Great point. I don't think people generally consider what makes up the growth of the stock market. I think two major components are value creation in the real economy (which sort of is what GDP is supposed to measure) and inflation, as

How do these ideas of energy relate to things like google search and software in general? I know server farms use a ton of energy and I also am pretty sure the human brain is by far the biggest consumer of energy in the human body. Maybe it

I feel embarrassed to ask such an obvious question, but what would it take to _not_ download electron with every app? I assume the main drawback to doing this is having the correct version. This isn't a big problem for web browsers.
