xpath is awesome, especially once you understand what an axis is. And that is what I've found most people who have trouble with it don't understand - like what exactly following-sibling or child means. I spent about 2 months writi

Depends on what you want to do. But I can tell you that this is sort of a pointless argument for a blogging platform I've found that the really important bit when writing read-heavy web-apps is good caching. The write-path could be wri

This still needs a particle accelerator sitting behind it to work - 60Mev electrons are accelerated 300 MeV/m by passing through something centimeters long. This will be useful for smaller X-rays, not particle science research. “I’d sa

I worked on that for almost a year. Also wrote an AS3 -> XHPROF tool which recompiled .swfs as a proxy service, in scala (which was doomed for that reason, once I quit). Fun times, indeed.

When I ran into this issue in EC2, it was mitigated by leaving cpu0 relatively idle. All apache processes were marked as taskset -c 1-7, the cpu steal and system load went down massively once that was in place.

I feel for you, but it's not the end yet. There are two important things you can do. 1) Looks like you wrote some cool code, so at least "github" it, so that you have a resume item & some cred when you want just a salary job. 2) Talk to
