I watched one of my (former) best friends, after Rowing practice at a top notch Ivy League school, take Ambien recreationally. It was terrifying to witness. He was someone else entirely, rambling, yelling, looking through me. I got the hell

Or what happened to me, where I was in a vegas cab (before Uber existed), but there was some confusion (perhaps with the next passenger?) and I was charged ~$200. Disputing it, especially ~10 years ago was a nightmare. Uber has a lot of iss

But Uber has what seems to be world class Machine Learning (If that's not the heart of AI, what is?) lab. I am not well versed enough to compare it to Google's, or openAI, but is surely seems like they are at least trying to push

I eyeballed it ;) Thanks for fixing my numbers. Convenience > everything. I love my Netflix. People love their Uber. I am willing to forgive in forget if it still offers me an awesome value proposition. shrugs in capitalism

What an odd, disjoint article. It reads like a drunken rant. The article linked is from 2011. The stock has gone up 23x since then. 23x in less than 7 years and he claims it was a mistake?

Let’s just get the obvious stuff out of the way and acknowledge that multi-billion-dollar companies don’t have fundamental values outside of doing what best benefits their shareholders. There’s no reason to believe Tim Cook lacks his own g

Me as in a working, tax paying, citizen? What if all the working, tax paying citizens left - what would we have then? I do not find your comment or attitude constructive.

San Jose had one of sorts, iirc it was destroyed because it was a hotbed of assaults, drugs, rapes, and pollution (illegal fires and dumping).

So if the purpose of your comment is to point out that the homeless tents are not illegal, you are incorrect. The tents are illegal. But my frustration, as you can see by my comments elsewhere in this thread, are grounded in that a city of

Yes. We need a two part solution. For the first part, the city should offer all the medical (mental and physical) care they could want, as well as any help they may need to get off the street. For the other part, the city needs to arrest an

I live in SF. I am very, very tired of the homeless tents everywhere, dirty needles everywhere, and suspicious feces everywhere. The amount of bums living outside is unacceptable - this is perhaps the dirtiest city I have ever been to.
