Well, we know that Orcas teach their young to hunt using waves, and by beaching themselves [0]. So it's not a stretch to assume that this is acquired knowledge, and not instinctual. [0]: http://www.nature.com/news/

JDBI3 [1] has Kotlin plug-ins [2], and makes it easy to create simple DAOs without having to inform the framework about the entire database structure. 1: https://jdbi.github.io/ 2: https://jdbi.github.io/#_s

When you don't show any information about pricing at all on your page, you're obviously not meant for small-scale use. Interesting to know about if I want to introduce Kafka in a bigger project, though.

Just a quick clarification: uBlock Origin only blocks CSP reports if it has injected "neutered" scripts into a page - typically if the site uses some third party scripts like GA. Because these neutered scripts might create extra C

Luckily, the next version of uBlock will let us block CSP reports alltogether. If CSP reports become a reliable way to gather data, they _will_ be used for tracking. This is why we can't have nice things. And why I have to disable all

I'm sure DataGrip is better for writing queries in. I really doubt it's better for managing SQL Agent jobs, doing backup/restore, or for managing users. Does DataGrip let you do Kerberos authentication?

For the MSSQL locking, you should probably change the transaction isolation level instead of using NOLOCK everywhere. I think it's a horrible wart that you have to do that for every session, though. The default can't be changed.

An editor can't "just do 8-bit clean", it has to display the characters. The same bytes will sometimes be displayed differently in utf-8 and (e.g.) ISO-8859-1. I'm not sure if a BOM is a good way to handle it, but saying

UIKit offers both Sass and Less versions - if you want semantic classes, build your own, by extending the presentational ones. A framework really can't offer semantic classes, since it doesn't know the semantics of your app/p

Well, then you're basically just mis-using the term. Brutalist comes from 'raw', not from 'brutal'. Brutalist buildings have windows. And I've yet to see a brutalist open-plan office.

That was an interesting article, but I really didn't like the phrase 'shields down'. It sort of implies that the default state, that you should protect, is keeping your current job. I think the default state should be you bei

They wouldn't need telemetry - they could have shown a local warning when the OD client detected a FAT drive.

I don't think KDiff 3 looks native anywhere, and I don't think it's because of Qt. It uses weird fonts and icons, and for some reason their toolbar buttons just look wrong. Still an extremely useful program.

GCC already has a license exception, because the output includes code written for GCC, as well as code written by the user.

Looks very nice! But: GPLv3 and code generation is a scary combo. Do you sell a commercial license? If not, you should add a license exception.

This looks nice! I fail to see any use for the dashboard, though - especially as you can't drill down into the timesheets from the pretty graphs. I think the quickest, most prominent action should be to start tracking a task - or chang

As I understand it, the work account is actually tied to your company's office 365 subscription or something like that. The private account is the one created by you. If anyone knows the exact difference, please explain! Would be great

I completely agree - but I use mailtrap.io quite a lot. It's wonderful to be able to make up any email address and have mail sent to it from your test system, without having to run your own mail infrastructure.

It's not unusual for auditions to music schools to include either 'prima vista' - where you play from the sheet - or 'secunda vista' - where you get a few minutes of prep time.
