Looking at \src\H\VERSIONC.H, this seems to be DOS 4.0 ...which was buggy and quickly followed by 4.01 Are they releasing the source to 4.01 too? Would be neat to see a diff of those.

PalmOS was a decently civilized platform to develop against. I remember using the CodeWarrior IDE to build a little portable app for managing parking meters. Using XModem over RS-232 you could update the machines' configuration, down

Over the years, I've become increasingly averse to starting new projects, new tasks, and even just sub-tasks. Which isn't great considering that I work in an engineering / R&D environment! If I get dragged into it, I

If you had built COBOL systems for banks and gov't in the 1980's, your work would still be alive and kicking today ;)

I interviewed two guys last month who were definitely using some form of real-time assistance on a remote (MS Teams) interview. Their English language skills were atrocious, but their answers were still peppered with ten-dollar words that

I've worked at nothing but small start-ups/re-starts for most of my career. I do get how/why headcount needs to balloon; thankfully I've mostly worked at places where we kept things lean and mean. For me, things stop be

I grew up on Garfield when I was a child, then The Far Side, Bloom County, and Calvin & Hobbes as a teen. Gen X really hit the jackpot back then!

If you'd have told me that Okta has 540 employees, I would believe you. Even double that seems plausible. But damn, 5400 is a lot.

Can confirm. Due to late/lazy screening, my cancer was caught late and now I'm fighting an uphill battle. It doesn't seem like rocket science to screen early but also not over-treat .

Oh I remember when that whole thing went down. It caused quite the buzz on Slashdot. ...but now I'm struggling to remember how many times I've logged into Slashdot in the past 10 years...

Hopefully this improves the quantity and quality of meetups in my area, which seems to mostly be ESL, toastmasters, book clubs, various fringe nutters, barhoppers, and old people who want to go on short walks.

I applied CICO to lose weight and keep it off. It's sad to see what nonsense (like "metabolic damage") people will invent to justify failing at weight loss (or worse, never even attempting weight loss).

Yeah, my mistake buying an ultrawide monitor. My 4yo rig can push 1080 okay but 3440x1440 is a bit much. I don't dare aspire to anything higher than 60fps.

Neat. When I owned 8-bit machines back in the 1980's, I never bothered to learn assembly; just BASIC. I'd love to tinker with retro computers again including things like the Commander X16, but to be honest I'm too old and i
