But Netflix has way more information than you do about the movie before you've seen it, namely you get a 30 second trailer, and it gets how many million people liked it. That doesn't show it is better than you, just that it has a

I have been meaning to try datomic for a while but love every minute of my current job doing Clojure. My company has been converting everything to it at every reasonable time, from web servers to massive ETL jobs to our Clojurescript React

The tooling is there, it's not bad, and it is constantly getting better. I use Cursive in IntelliJ to do all my Clojure programming. A lot of others also use Emacs but Cursive is an amazing plugin imho. It does the vast majority of thi

Wouldn't a clause being added that required some form of obvious progress that your company plans to directly use the IP they are holding or lose it to the public be sufficient to prevent companies like MPEG LA from just using it to su

Perhaps not shooting people at all would be a better start. Can't find the link but I've seen some videos applauding police doing de-escalation work that worked well, think it was in Europe.

You realize we're not in a massive extinction event now right? You're comparing things like giant meteors killing all the dinosaurs to right now? If you can see the sun, we shouldn't have all these animals dying.

I know someone who gets 800Mb/s with Sonic fiber now for less $$ than Comcast. So happy for them to be off Comcast too. Can't wait for Sonic to cover me and I think they were only a few blocks away last I checked.

I like your sentiment but then I realized of course it is. There is nothing more real than what is real. If suddenly we were dropped in a more random universe with less probabilistic rules, then what we have now wouldn't be good. Short

I've heard training using some tools is easier than others. This might allow you to experiment on one tool and then easily port your commonly formatted model to a more production like system, for performance or whatever other reasons.

Nuance is always good but I think GP's comment is still very true despite who wrote the software: increasingly the world's governments are eagerly eroding anonymous speech in the name of security.
