This is super interesting. Especially the discussion on the vine with the single line of parasite cells that spans nearly the length of the vine that hosts it. Then they mention that the parasite DNA has really long interons, which are non-

I think it's a pretty reasonable response given malls and other places were scooping up bluetooth and wifi Mac addresses and using them to identify patrons. Sure, only Apple knows so it might possibly have some benefit to Apple and eve

If you think of groups of neurons in arbitrary dimensions, where some groups fire together for some things, and a different group with some overlap fire for other things, then it's like two dimensions where a line is a sense or thought

OP said they scanned and found this problem in thousands of projects including some ones which are probably copied heavily as examples like from Nvidia. While the post might be a little strong, at least they back up their statement that man

Ben Bernanke ran the Federal Reserve for a couple terms. So he controlled the US money system. When things get hard for the economy, like they did when he worked there around 2000, a solution is to "print money", which is basicall

This is amazing. I just installed it (it's a free app with donations at the end ) and is exactly the kind of format that I think will help me succeed at taking more control of my alcohol intake. It actually reminds me of the Ten Perce

Their argument that 2/3rds the world is covered in water means it's a good place to build houses seems strained at best. Diversifying housing styles seems like a good idea in general but the number of problems you get probably out

Language isn't about beating people over the head about "mis-using" words, it's about conveying meaning. https://www.thoughtco.com/descriptivism-language-term-169044... I'm going to make an argument

I think a similar add-on went to court and was deemed illegal. Sorry, can't cite my source. I think it's a pretty common idea but falls flat quickly once you realize there isn't a reliable way to mass vet reviews

That's how Clojure implements vectors except its a tree of 8-element arrays. This has nice functional programming properties because it makes it easy to make immutable copies of large vectors with good performance and memory characteri

Excellent article. Haven't read something so opinionated but clear and well argued about programming in a while. His summary rules at the bottom are great: To sum up: If a function is only called from a single place, consider inlining

The author stated many reasons this just wasn't the case. Lots of missing libraries to common services or libraries that weren't mature enough like the saddeningly reported Postges driver. That seems particularly damning, if I can

How about, for someone to post a review, you have to take a picture of yourself with the product. But before you take the picture, you get randomly assigned a number. You must post a picture with that number in the photo. Then either do mag

The reason we have programming languages at all is to make the process of using the CPU easier. We don't code in assembly because it's easier to do things with higher level languages. If you can make a language both designed to ru

Would you care to elaborate? I'm very fond of the language but have found people to be generally pleasant. The only criticism I have is that its a pretty small community so finding fellow Clojurists tends to be hard.

Marketing is supposedly a large part of spend too, or should be from what Ive heard. Doesn't matter what your building if no one has ever heard of it, and I've heard some comapnies spend huge sums on marketing alone.

But at least the software could assert that the construction speed was lower than what the map stated the speed limit was so you could only slow down a car which would hopefully be a safer failure.
