True. People tend to lump these concepts together. I think people in general are interested in utilizing more cores and so they typically are interested in STM as well, although frankly I haven't ever used it in production systems. The

I came here to say this except for Clojure. While not as pure as Haskell, it has amazing parallel programming primitives like atoms, pmap, software transactional memory, and more that are extremely easy to us relative to trying to accomplis

I think you're downplaying the number of cars that actually do burst into flames. A car telling me it can't run seems quite undramatic.

Tranfer learning is a form of this, where you train the first half of a neural net over a huge set of data, then take a much more specific task and train just a bit more by adding some layers, and you get great sometimes industry leading re

The "era of Artificial Intelligence" doesn't seem like it's a new software stack to learn when phrased like that to me, but to each their own.

I think it’s important to mention that Elizabeth Warren is displaying a blatantly false ad to illustrate this exact point: she thinks that it’s ridiculous that Facebook is airing obviously false ads and has no accountability.

I'd like to add to not saying "you're so smart," you should say "wow it looks like you worked really hard at that." Makes the kid realize that's what's important, the effort.
