FTA nothing to do with Trader Joes, but where that particular THs happens to have its parking lot. Only at location, and you're allowed to emter a license plate number instead of logging in. Seems pretty click-baity to me.

I remember applying for a visa on a country's government website and their Javascript was broken. I "hacked" the HTML just to finish the application. I think it was a Firefox compatibility issue.

Moving factories and headquarters isn't fast, they've been talking about this for years. The anti-choice legislation is very recent. Also, Biden just blocked it, so the laws you don't like might even be rolled back by the tim

If you think subtle signaling based on being able to have a dealership is more important than the huge tax implications, production line materials, and labor costs, you are mistaken on how mega corps are run. Follow the money. Tesla hasn&#x

Trying not to be a Tesl fanboy, but they have a nice graph showing the number of auto pilot complaints but fail to mention if they normalized for the number of cars on the road (with autopilot) of that brand. Maybe there are a ton of Tesla

I did it for a year in Japan, not easy but doable. I also hate giving out my phone number. It's just another way for companies to track users.

Having worked many years in a place that did 100% pair programming, switching to a PR company definitely leaves things to be desired. TFA does mention feedback coming back too late in the process, and it definitely feels like the feedback t

I also write Clojure for food, but also for fun. I found that a lot of Clojure is fast enough but also speeding it up is relatively easy with some type hinting and perhaps dipping into mutable data structures or other tricks. Relevant Stack

The people bearing the real cost are the people trying to sell products with ads. Facebook more or less sets up the system to pass that cost along.

I had another coworker compare Clojure and Java tooling recently. I just don't think it's fair to compare one of the most used languages on the planet to one that is written in the other one. Clojure tooling isn't the best ou

Looks close to Scheme to me. Very cool. Anyone know how much of the Rust memory safety you're going to lose using this? It looks relatively strict a la the immutable local variables but are they just going to garbage collect those some

Apple sells a 7 core and 8 core version of their M1 chips. Maybe Intel and AMD ship CPUs with even more cores disabled but it's not like Apple doesn't do this at all.

That's not really an Apple tax though, that's a cost of doing business tax. It's not like Intel and AMD and everyone else aren't effectively doing the same exact thing.

Isn't Hashicorp all B2B? So like, one of those 1200 customers could be a single government customer paying crazy amounts? I don't think this is a good metric just like "lines of code" isn't a good metric.

Seems valid to want someone to vet your software, especially if it’s capable of self-upgrade. But I also think that’s an expensive process, and one that Google probably doesn’t want to pay for. People seem very up-in-arms about App Store fe
