I think there is definitely merit to your statements. I believe the future of the average software developer job involves a very high level language, API integration, basic full stack work with a lot of AI assistance. And those roles will m

The same happened with accountants and spreadsheet software, the number of accounting jobs grew. The actual work they performed became different. I think a similar thing is likely to happen in the software world.

I read this as the FTC trying to be reassuring that they are doing their job. But I guess it's just a blog post written right before Christmas so I'm sure the author just needed to get something out.

I know someone who worked on MyQ a few years ago. Management was focused on money and then the company got bought by Blackstone. So despite all of the PO's and developers desperately wanting to build a good product that just opens up p

I really didn't think anyone was applauding the "hallucinations" but maybe I just hang around people who aren't visionaries.

I think that proves a point that some jobs can be done outside of the office, so why not have people work where they prefer? For this CEO it's on the road. For a lot of people it's at home. For a lot of people it's both.

Being concerned about a credible threat isn't relevant when it comes to privacy. Everyone has a right to a certain amount of privacy. I actually think the ownership reporting is a good idea, but I feel the privacy concerns are the only

IIRC one of the examples in the book is someone who just stopped doing their job or showing up and nothing bad happened, and the bureaucracy of their organization kept paying them.

One of the first things he does in the book is define the term "bullshit jobs", and refine that definition to specifically include that the workers feel it is bullshit. I think it's fair to make a larger statement of social p

This is a little scary to see as someone who is trying to switch industries and get into a product owner / manager position. My background is very technical, but it's in the traditional IT industry and I doubt anyone would trust m

I think there's risk in trades like any business, but the world will always need plumbers, electricians, etc. Someone will always find the market price for when people are willing to pay to not have to interact with sewage or potential

Very anecdotal, but I don't know anyone making minium wage for my area. I do know tons of people making within 1-2 dollars of minimum wage though. If we divvy up the data into groups like that, I wonder how much that 1% jumps.

Logism is what I learned on and really liked it. Good to learn about alternatives, especially if logism is "complete" and isn't being ported to any newer runtimes.
