Wow, nice demo. It is interesting to see Wolfram explain his vision for an "ultimate fusion language" -- a powerful multi-paradigm language, a huge standard library, data sources, and deployment all rolled into one. This monolithi

Cool stuff! It's nice to see platforms like this which abstract out good algorithms, so that developers can worry about thinking of interesting applications. .Open source libs are even better, but pragmatically speaking, I think these

Congratulations! We've been happily using CircleCI as part our test/deploy workflow for a few months. Github and Hipchat integration works great, the web UI is easy to use, and ssh and parallelization are nice bonuses.

My biggest single problem with Facebook Paper is that the UI has too many possible interactions, making it confusing to decide how to navigate. There's no mindless default. With the Facebook app I scroll down. With Flipboard I flip. Wi

Really clever response to clearly decouple the copyright issue from the freedom of speech issue. I'm curious to see how the university will react to this.

What a bizarre document to see on the front page of HN. I clicked the title expecting an interesting story about actual hacking. Instead I got a poorly written, dully presented whitepaper explaining HN. Perhaps useful to an enterprise CEO t

Am I alone in finding it absurd how this product is being marketed? I saw the title and expected some guidelines on how to build a business, and instead found some static website components and an over-the-top video. Their dramatization of

This article seems to glorify the idea of people keeping money out of the banking system to avoid banks making money off interest spreads. But our economy actually relies on capital being available through banks. How would people having all

I get that this was written in quick response to the earlier post about AngularJS, but it would have been far more useful if it had actually drawn direct comparisons between the two frameworks. I'm currently using AngularJS for a proje

Fascinating writeup! I enjoy it when a writer thoroughly details an entire thought process like this, instead of just focusing on the end result. This is precisely the type of content that belongs on the HN front page.

Another feature I'm really looking forward to in 9.3 is native operators to query inside stored JSON documents. It works well in the dev build and will be a great addition to the NoSQL functionality in Postgres.

Indeed, this is exactly what we did in our demo! We just swished with Listerine and immediately breathalyzed on stage and it worked great. We found that the Listerine effect seems to diminish quickly after several minutes.

I'm currently learning R and was hoping for a more detailed blog post. I found this to be a pretty bland report that would have been made much more interesting and useful if the author had included some concrete examples.
