You said Nazism is being accepted like other political movements. But nobody (in this thread) ever said something like that.

You're misreading. Nazism isn't being treated as acceptable, neither is wokeism. Both companies have apologized for these incidents, and have addressed the problems.

You gave the argument that Grok isn't trustable because of their nazi fails. My argument was that you're maybe a bit biased, because similar issues have happened with other prominent companies. Both companies corrected themselves

I don't know, I can think of lots of new ideas that haven't been executed yet. I think there's always more to explore. It's also a bit of creativity and out-of-the-box thinking

That's fine if you have a relatively straightforward situation. If the situation is a bit more complex, with important decisions you should consider, it might still need some eyeballing and time. That is accounting.

I don't know, I've been interviewing a lot lately, for jobs that are specifically looking for engineers keen with AI. But they still drill me on the technical stuff, whether I really have the years of experience I claim. I guess t

I'm not saying that, it's the opposite: Gemini generated too-woke images, like all images of people was like at least 50% colored, no matter what, even if you asked it to generate images of German World War 2 soldiers, it mostly g

That's maybe a bit of an unfair, out-of-balance comment. Google Gemini had it's own fails on the other side of the extreme. Both have corrected themselves. Don't keep coming up with old stuff.

Well I didn't say exactly "banning" either. I have the feeling a lot of people are advocating to at least (try to) boycott AI, and downplay it, make people feel guilty about it's usage. It's vaccines vs no vaccines

I don't really understand; the author first describes a personal planning / management issue, and then blames a particular technology for it. Apparently the author seems to think that the technology is the cause for the personal p

You mean like how bikes are like crack to people that are always out and about to do useless errands? Yeah I think we should protect these people from accessing these technologies, because they clearly can't handle it!

As developers, we often hack our own tools to make then behave in the way we want. But it does take some effort to look up documentation and to think of creative solutions. That's what makes a good developer.

Yeah so therefore I think a positive attitude is all the more needed, where you see the potentials, see solutions instead of problems. But I feel most anti-AI people are just negative people seeing only problems and don't have any solu

Or it gets better; every industrial revolution has made life for everyone better, not only the rich ones. Coding skills will decline indeed, like math skills of bookkeepers declined when they started using computers. But other skills come i

Haven't seen much, but the things I've seen from Altman directly give me uncomfortable feelings, and the things I've seen of Amodei seem reasonable, even interesting at times.

From what I understand, the Pro and Max subscriptions are kind of "subsidized"; you get way more tokens than they would normally cost. But I think Anthropic wants people to use that for Claude Code only, not for things like OpenCl

I think it's about whether you trust someone or not. I don't really find Altman trustable. No one should have sole control over AI, but we need to have some trust in the people that are operating it.

I've noticed that Claude has made less mistakes than in the past. I feel it checks it's own work more rigorously now, and understands it's own claims better and knows how to confirm them. It rarely happens to me that Claude c

That's an interesting point, and maybe that actually also explains the difference of people that believe that AI is making them more productive and people that believe it doesn't; if you never think about the architecture, then it

This feels like a comment from 2 years ago; by now the most modern models write much better code than humans can in much shorter time. But if you're not used to code reviewing, it can certainly help to still write yourself.

Waiting longer for tests / builds doesn't have effect on token usage.. Rust's compile time is longer because the compiler does much more. And therefore the binaries are often smaller, start and run faster than Go
