It seems more likely that they exist for the same reason the numerous shops selling various small cheap items (phone box shaped fridge magnets, hats with "I love London", etc) exist. It's a way to fill a commercial unit until

Oh I see, from looking at some examples it's the one without the bar on the bottom? I use the the more French/European '1' to distinguish from a lowercase 'l' (so that C1 does not look like Cl = chlorine).

Oddly enough I used to write my '0' like an 'O', until I started writing down a lot of chemical structures with numbered atoms. I had to distinguish between the 0 label and the 'O' of an oxygen. I've now a

I was trying to do a similar-ish thing. Autotools looks useful. Parsing the SVG path was a bit of a nightmare. For traversing the path, I considered the Chinese postman problem. There might be easier ways.

Heh, yes I'm fairly familiar with knotted proteins, and Willie Taylor's work on them. Strictly speaking most of them are not mathematical knots either, since the ends are not connected. Some have salt bridges, I seem to recall.

Even 'topology' is a little confusing to those more familiar with the term from maths. For the 'CATH' hierarchical classification, the 'Topology' level is something like the organization of secondary structure

Yes, a 'reimbursement' is a direction of a payment (in my understanding). A payment can be in full, or partial so yes you can have a partial reimbursement.

Indeed, digital archives use (I understand) various metadata standards such as: https://www.dublincore.org/specifications/dublin-core/dcmi-t... or 'Dublin core' which is RDF.
