Traffic is mostly caused by bad drivers. Eliminate those, raise speed limits for robocars, and lanes can be narrowed/removed.

It could drastically change so many aspects. The cost of transport could drop 10x or more (accounting for efficiency gains and longevity of EVs). - Car ownership could end up eliminated except for those who really need dedicated work vehicl

I think you underestimate Aliexpress, Wish, Temu, ... The sheer quantity of goods being shipped in, one-by-one on a daily basis make it impossible to block in any effective manner.

Not true. True green technologies are already profit drivers. EVs, solar, wind, heat pumps... are becoming so cheap and efficient that not switching for industrial use (and often personal) costs more.

Is there not a config for minimum supported JS version? That would appease everyone, while maintaining backwards compatibility. Docs should show the recommended version (modern) and show what options are available to go deeper. Obviously ad

Sounds like a double whammy. Misconfigure one AWS service, and you get hit with a giant bill from both.

Yeah, Mac solved this so elegantly. Windows really needs a simple default hotkey to do a partial screen capture quickly, and save it to a reasonable directory.

The battery inside your headphones is negligible. Each (for Airpod Pro) is ~1% of your phone's battery. The case has a little over 10%, if charged from 0-100%

I had an Android phone from Motorola (that cost $10) that could be fully submerged. The seal mechanism was bulky and the phone was hot garbage. For me, battery life for days in airplane mode is good enough if it means never worrying about l

While this is true, we eventually need to go net negative. There is no other option. Energy curtailment (overproduction) will likely be a common reality in some seasons by 2030 and definitely in the following decade. Building plants that ar

As the value goes up, companies that sort trash and recycling will be incentivized to separate the electronics, and claim the value as an extra revenue stream.

Unfortunately, physics says battery-powered cars have won. Using solar to power a process to make a fuel before burning a fuel that at best (way less in reality) uses 2x more energy than just powering an electric motor directly is not sen

Electric cars are better . Less moving parts/maintenance, quicker, 3x as efficient, can be charged nearly anywhere with existing infrastructure and no ongoing supply chain requirement (fuel delivery). Energy density is steadily increa

While the 5% number may be presently accurate, it is mainly for tiny Lithium batteries. Those from vehicles are of very large + high value, and will likely end up well above 95% recycling rate whenever it is time for them to be scrapped. Th

Oil is 100% non-renewable. A single, relatively efficient ICE vehicle will use over 45,000 lbs of gasoline over its lifetime (excluding all the oil to extract, refine, and transport that gasoline). The entire oil supply chain has no chance

Exactly. Batteries are being recycled at scale today with 98-95% material recovery rates, depending on the company. We are still early in the development cycle of recycling technology, which means we'll be closer to 99.x% in a decade w
