I hear you on undoing the damage. Going on two years into a long break and I’m still improving my insomnia. Recovering from stress related health problems takes time, in my experience. I love tech and want to live a long time to see what

A lot of people get their opinions from a chain of misinformation that starts from groups who are incentivized to keep the status quo. Even so, there are a lot more high leverage ways to spend tax money on reducing carbon than car rebates.

This hit close to home. I don't think it's exclusive to programmers. I think this is happening in all industries, we just see it to a greater degree. Everyone's aware of polarization in politics, but I think it's happ

Do we owe all our professors and textbook makers compensation when we make money off our brain neural networks that they trained? Everyone also keeps talking about how bad copilot is. It’s the first step! It’s only going to improve and pr

Wouldn't attacks on Starlink be so asymmetrical that we'd want the enemy to try and shoot them down? They'd go bankrupt trying. We launch 60 satellites per Falcon, and who knows how many per Starship. Meanwhile the bad guy

I quit last June after 13 mostly consecutive years in tech. I haven't saved enough to be financially independent but I can coast for a while. Even at a company that seemed to have good work life balance, I couldn't take it so I

What does LP mean? From the context it looks like something more basic than an MVP? Would you mind sharing what tech you used for the no-code stages (LP and MVP) of your product?

I wonder if the lack of concern is because of the future of autonomous warfare. There's drones of course, but also tech that enables things like aircraft carriers to run with much fewer crew. I'm betting that national healthcare

Maybe with the right technology you could map out each nerves function for both donor and patient before the procedure and match them up. I wouldn't be surprised if brains and nerves don't work as simply as an API though.

I recently signed up for a course on Coursera. Maybe I wasn't paying attention or maybe I was tired, but I didn't realize the plan was a trial that would automatically start billing. It wasn't even a month before I received

I don't think you'd notice a 1.2 inch change in anything over 20 years. Especially something like the ocean, with tides and waves. Source for .06 inches per year: https://www.epa.gov/climate-indicators/clim

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but since this 3D CPU would be superconducting, it would conduct electricity without resistance and therefore not generate any heat while in use.

I think we should strive to make more ways for people that "can't code" to be able to contribute. It's hard. I've been thinking recently that there might be an additional lesson behind Conway's Law; that the

Water temperature has to be about 60-65C and be applied for a period of minutes (longer that bacteria) to harm viruses. Max water heater temperature is about 48C. You're only damaging your skin which will make it more susceptible to
