I don't think this will be solved until there is a radical rethinking of package managers, build systems, and programming languages. Like the founder of socket.dev, I think that static analysis will play a role. However, I don't a

This is a cool utility, but I feel that its existence is entirely predicated on not having a proper build system. A proper build system should be able to be integrated with your editor or IDE, and whenever a save happens, a plugin for your

I have passed your +1 along. Thank you for putting your money where your mouth is. However, I worry that the reason they haven't done it is because of lack of time. They spend a lot of time on finding and stopping fraud. If they didn&#

Good news for you: I'm well on the way to solving the problem of better code merging. Specifically, the algorithms I am developing appear to be able to do a correct merge on both [1] and [2]. They also appear capable of merging binary

I actually thought of another way to do it. In the "real code" I linked to in the post, I have a concept I call "context stacks". The idea comes from Jai, and I use to do implement things such as error handling and alloc

Then you and I disagree about the definition of function colors. But Zig's language reference is clear: when needed, blue functions are turned into red functions transparently at compile time. What that does is make it seem as though

I do agree with a lot of what you said. > While structured concurrency gives you this guarantee, this is orthogonal to whether a function the thread runs is "red" or "blue". I disagree with this. Making sure that thre

From what I understand, this would go further than Erlang, in that this can be a DAG of threads, not just a tree. I could be wrong, though; I'm not terribly familiar with Erlang anymore.

I do not know of any case studies or examples. However, my own code could be considered non-trivial because it's a full build system, or will be. After writing only enough to get it bootstrapped, I'm now going through and redoing
