Minor correction on my part: > For a period of a week, each day mix an equal amount of flour and water by weight. I always use 100g of water and 100g of flour. This is considered 50% hydration. I meant to say this is 100% hydration (when

Gotta read the whole thing > When baking, you generally want a starter that is 75-80% hydration vs the 50% used during initially growing it. All this means is that after baking for the day or if you’re just feeding the starter daily to m

Yes, literally yeast from the air. That’s what sourdough is . If you bought some starter from the east coast and brought it to SF, within a few weeks you’ll have a SF sourdough.

For the curious, here’s the simple instructions for growing your own starter. Everything should be measured in grams for ease of use. When baking bread, everything is done using the bakers percentage. All this means is that all ingredients

Remember that google login works cross platform. So it makes sense to show Apple for only iOS/Mac users, but you shouldn’t hide the other options.

I’ve been getting up to speed over the last few months. Don’t do what I did: googling and going through random top hits. Most of these are 1-off blog articles that revolve around “install Helm and then do these 6 things” or “just kubectl ap

Jeebus, I agree. There’s a lot in there that I’d never pass in a code review. There’s no tests, either. As in, if those were in place it would be an arduous but straightforward task to deobfuscate the mess and make sure the tests pass.

Can someone submit an article on this topic from a news source that doesn’t completely cover up the story with ads, popovers when you have ad blocking turned on, etc? This website plus Mercury news do the same bullshit.

If you have an opportunity, watch the Rachel Maddow show from 3/18. They talk about this in depth. Kinsa has been selling a digital thermometer for a while. As part of the device, it uploads readings to both your phone and then sends t

I've been a Linode customer for the better part of a decade. Primary reason is that their egress is quite generous compared to any other provider I've looked at. Also, their customer service is exceptional and over the years the h

Having struggled with setting up kubernetes over the last month on my own, I’ve come to realize the absolute value of simplicity. In the end Helm just introduced more problems than it solved. Rather than applying configs haphazardly and rel

You're right. Iteration comes when you plan on building lots of something. If there was a plan to have 100 JWT type telescopes in orbit, then you build lots of prototypes and narrow down the manufacturing process. When there's onl

Honestly don’t know why this is being downvoted. Swarm is officially being deprecated by Docker. There aren’t any current alternatives to k8s being proposed.

Swarm is basically dead. I’ve spent over 2 weeks trying to get kubernetes to work and have completely failed. Left another comment about that. I’ve been looking and haven’t found any alternatives. Really feels like there should be.
