Why do you think your selfish and egotistical (and apparently unlawful) actions should have no consequences? >Mr. Pollock conceded that he told the flight attendant he planned to ignore the sign, which other travelers had questioned in o

In that case, it was potentially VERY applicable to the other people's lives who also were on the plane in question.

Thanks for the link. I had seen some of Kurosawa's films but was unable to pinpoint why they felt so different from modern films.

The "Server" response header will usually tell you but may omit a specific version depending on configuration. Use "curl -I whatever.com" to send a HEAD request and look at the headers in the response.

Where do you work, if I may ask? This kind of arrangement would actually make living near and working in SF tolerable. No traffic getting into/out of the city at those times.

Cat5 has a max throughput of 100mbps. 802.11g wifi (probably what you're using) has a max throughput of 54mbps. Either buy a Cat5e/Cat6 cable or change your wifi access point to use 802.11n. I am connected to my 2007 Airport Ext

1br is around $3,000 now: https://www.rentjungle.com/average-rent-in-san-francisco-ren... 100k = 25% marginal tax rate for Fed, but effective rate of 17.3% + 6.8% State tax rate = 24.13% = $24130 (assuming you are single)

This, this, this! Even if you're very friendly with the C-team at your company, DO NOT GIVE HONEST FEEDBACK. It can only hurt you in the future. I, myself, made this mistake a few years ago, and now I'm always worried a potentia

Very few people will see it since the OP was flagkilled, but this post you wrote in the other thread was very nice: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=9172061

Same versions, same profiles, same # of bookmarks (hundreds), same # of plugins (adblock, ghostery, a few others). Pages render a lot snappier and there's no scrolling lag in Waterfox vs Firefox. This is great.

Another one: "it's low prices" -> "its low prices". its -> possessive form of "it" it's -> "it is" OP seems not to be a native speaker of English but is doing well despite that.

The problem is that it doesn't scale linearly. There's some O(n 4) algorithm being used in netstat or some kernel syscalls or something. Once you go over 250k, things get _really_ weird.

Linux starts to act weird around 200,000 concurrent connections in my experience, even with aggressive sysctl tuning. You end up with weird edge cases like netstat literally taking 15 minutes of CPU time (in kernel) before it dumps the lis

Nevada does not share tax info with the IRS (even though no tax is owed), which can appear suspicious. Wyoming is likely a better choice. One advantage of a Nevada/Wyoming LLC is that they have specific laws which prevent veil-pierci

If you haven't looked at C++ in a while, check out C++14. No naked pointers, inferred types, lambdas, code that is run at compile time (constexpr),... tons of new stuff. It's actually awesome now!
