There is no need for a valid SSL cert, self signed will do. The ProxyCommand just needs to not validate the cert.

I think you missed my point. Even if that is the case, it is still another store that the hardware vendor installed. Most likely uninstallable without rooting the device. Steam does not come preinstalled (except for the steam deck), users c

Steam is a bit of a very special case and I think very different from either Apple or Google stores. Steam is never part of a platform, except for maybe the steam deck, and even there it lets you very easily replace it. Steam will install o

No ranks, just suites. The idea is that stocks are fungible. Stocks don't have ranks, so why should a card representing them have ranks. Also the numbers would leak far too much information on the goal suite.

People are being perhaps a little too over dramatic here. Yes, this is not SSHv3 as defined by a standards body. It is very much SSHv2 over HTTP/3. (Which sorta sounds like how HTTP/3 is actually HTTP/2 over QUIC) But there i

Mosh and this project have fairly different goals. Mosh uses regular TCP SSHv2 to authenticate and setup the udp connection. As such your initial connection time is actually slower than just normal v2, and you cannot auth with something lik

My daughter's parents group is all iMessage. The group is too large to even downgrade to SMS. I am excluded entirely unless I figure out methods to get into that group. It is very annoying and quite real.

X.org is maybe not in the same bucket as X.com. x.org is very tech oriented and the people who visit that site are much more likely to appreciate the unusual domain. It doesn't change the fact that it looks a bit weird. I think any dom

More than likely someone with a high traffic site fat fingered an IP address and sent all the traffic to you. I am curious if you were able to capture the headers at all. The 'Host' header would allow you to figure out the site th

After the deportling, I just stopped communicating with IRC, but there is a lot of lost there. One of my communities was basically split in half. Ah well... The user drop is quite noticable here: https://netsplit.de/networks

I did some testing of peertube a little over a year ago, and in practice you never used the webtorrent stuff anyway. The webtorrent always had a static http seed which is how videos played fast, but that web seed was usually more than capab

Guix is very focused on "free" software and as such is very limiting. IE, if you want to use Discord, Slack, or Steam on guix you're going to have to figure that out yourself. Nix makes this much easier and you're much m

Reading all the comments makes me think I'm an outlier. I very aggressively unsubscribe from everything so I get very little mailing list spam. Maybe a few messages a month. What I do get _constantly_ is spam email messages to my inbox
