As I sit here on Sunday afternoon, trying to get a Phaser game to run on an iPad 2; I read this and think "We haven't stopped caring, we care when it's a specified business requirement". This bites us in the ass, because

This article seems to have missed that Amazon sucks and Netflix doesn't. How much of Amazon's content do I really get without paying an additional rental cost or fee? It's become quite annoying to even try to look through Ama

Hrm, so the Kickstarter said this: * We're aiming to ship Console OS Developer Release 1 within about 30 days of the Kickstarter’s conclusion. * From there, we’ll use Kickstarter funds to build out support for the devices that you vot

This is very close the experience I had. My MIL still turns the z-wave lights off wrong (she dims them to 0 instead of turning them off). Low and behold there is no way for me to 'fix' this. Dim 0 should equal off, but it doesn&#x

I don't disagree (or claim to be 95th percentile). The question I have in regards to your comment would be - so then isn't it an article about how he is getting ripped off? What I mean to say is, my thought is that a developer in

So I've been at this 9 years and I'm not making six figures. Fuck. I don't even understand where I went wrong. Part of me can't believe the article at all. His comment about cost of living was kind of an outright dismiss

I'm going to check Subsonic out, thanks for the recommendation. Now I really don't need to upgrade.

Yes. With only 32GB, the "Use the cloud, Luke" is a bit pushy. The only thing selling me is the desire to get the USB Type C. I've experienced what you are talking about, every time I get an OTA for the Nexus 5; the performan

There is a new Nexus 5 being shown on Sept. 29th, it looks to be a pretty good phone. I have a Nexus 5 and I already got the update they spoke of.

But you don't have future price information; so it's a bit hard for an actual enterprise recommendation. This will cost X in the future, but it's free for now? Free for now is great for me as a tinkerer/developer; but I

So when did you meet your wife? During a dinner break? When do you handle maintenance items? (cleaning, washing, lawn care, taxes). Should I assume this is all done by someone else? It's not realistic to bring a founder argument into

I never said any of that. I called him out on working 80 hours; he apparently does. Good for him. That doesn't mean you should make assumptions beyond that. I'm already at 40 hours this week. So I'll hit ~60 before I go home

I see lines like this sometimes, and I never speak up. So here goes. You work 16 hour days and it's just fine? You are saying that in your post. It's right there. 80-90 hours. You expect someone reading your post to believe you wo

Yes, but we don't normally do "games". I make games on the side for fun and it ended up with me doing some professionally. Out of the 91, I'd say we've 'shipped' 16 at this point; with 16-20 more in the fi

Working with it professionally, I agree. You pass the game object everywhere, no matter what. The variation if factory methods is also frustrating. It's ridiculous trying to reference how to create things when all the examples use game

I could possibly get you an example of both if you were interested. Most of the people using Phaser are using Tyepscript and doing multi-module management with that. I use Browserify (and bring in Phaser separately). If you have a state tha

I'm working on 91 applications in it (Series of educational games/interactives/story books). It's going really well and we have more than half complete. There are some bugs, but any framework has that.

If we're just going to be Slashdot style anecdotal and start slinging... I've seen huge projects go really well in Backbone. I can't imagine going back to Angular. Since when is 'fun' the bar for frameworks?

If you are a full stack JavaScript developer looking at game development, then you might look at Phaser JS. It wouldn't involve learning a new language, but I've found its fun to work with both privately and professionally.

The Mashable post was much better actually. It was a bit sarcastic, but more interesting in that he tries to point out some of the day to day problems instead of just throwing his hands in the air. Thanks for the link.

So people are just going to do this again? Hand over all of their photos in exchange for free storage? How far are we from a computer being able to determine what is going on in a picture, and then they can mine the things you've done.
