Yes, I completely agree with your assessment. For this reason, I prefer separating workloads. Cloud providers make this really easy with managed sql and key value datastores. In datacenter there are good options using high availability sto

There’s some interesting ideas in this blog, but also a bunch of weird logic assertions which sound like the type of statements you’d get from somebody trying to sell their thing. In case that wasn’t clear, you can’t containerize

I will not use chrome but I’d love to try your extension. Could you add a way to get a reminder from your team when Firefox or safari support is available?

If only there were some sort of device you could use to determine if the website was a small business. Such as a telephone. Put another way, actual relationships with customers solve this problem trivially.

Based simply on the current “dig up everything we can while it’s still worth something” push from the industry, it’s clear they’re dead in the water with a lot of soon to be stranded assets. Much like the tobacco industry, they have sway..

I'm interested by why you think this. In the scheme of costs of having employees, the software costs are very low.

As an example, I have had to purchase a very specific usb-c data cable for my 4K monitor so I can connect my MacBook with one cable. The standard cables which can charge are not able to carry data at the correct rate. At the office, this wa

.. so it’s Apples fault that Android phone makers can’t produce a credible USB-C headphone adapter? Wow. That’s some seriously backwards logic.

What I find fascinating about this is how easy (and simultaneously difficult) it’s going to be for FB and Twitter to copy this. This channel will remove my only remaining use of these platforms.

If Apple was legally obligated to contribute back, they would do so. They have a good history of community contribution (eg. Darwin, WebKit) so I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, instead of some random anonymous internet com

Why do you equate “elevating the discipline” with “give away the data?”. Are you suggesting Google didnt elevate the discipline of search because their backend is closed?
